Last Few Days

Chapter - 16

[Darshan]:
I had started coming to college almost daily and the teachers though that I was getting improved, so to help me in 'improving' they made me the cultural president. I mean are you serious! Is that what I had left to do now.  I cursed the teachers and who so ever gave me that post thinking that I was improving. Improving my foot. I wanted to show them my reality, the way I improve, but cancelled all my plans when Rayan gave me that news. "Really!", I said and my eyes widened. "Yes. I'm 100% sure, Aaruhi is the cultural vice president", he repeated. My heart jumped in excitement and all of a sudden, all the curses changed into blessings.
One day, the cultural president and vice president, i.e. me are Aaruhi were called by the coordinator ma'am. "Guys, for the college fest, I want you both to plan something soon and inform me", she said. "Ma'am I was thinking that every year, students from all the subjects, made groups and represented their respective feilds, so this time, let's mix and match them. Like they'll dance in couple but both from different feilds", Aaruhi suggested. Ahhan, what does she mean? I'm from science, she's from commerce. "Ya, that's a nice idea, Aaruhi", ma'am replied. "But then, how will we distribute points and pick out the winner stream on the last day?", she asked. "So we can do this year wise. I mean first years will make groups with first years, second years with second years and so on", Aaruhi said and my heart broke as she definitely didn't mean anything. We were different years. "That's amazing", ma'am said. "Darshan, you are the president but it doesn't seems like. You are only standing here quietly listening to us. Learn something from her", she added and I looked towards Aaruhi who was already looking at me and smiling but looked away the moment our eyes met. "Ma'am actually I too have an idea. Every year, we give award to the best stream and this time we'll give to the best year, but what about the best position? I mean let's do  a competition between all the positions too. Like the presidents and vice presidents have to perform too, and the couple which will perform the best, will get the best presidents' award. For example, I and Aaruhi, will perform together and will represent culture. The sports president and vice president will perform together and will represent sports and so on", I sincerely said. Ma'am looked at me in shock for a second and said "Wow, I didn't expect that coming from you", and started writing something in her copy. I bit my lower lip and looked towards Aaruhi from the side of my eye. She gave me a death stare. "Meet me outside", she slowly whispered. That's what I was dying to hear. After we came out of the office, Aaruhi dragged me to a corner.
