"Prejudice diminishes if you take the time to place yourself in someone else's shoes."

Tin entered the classroom and saw Pete talking to two girls in their class which he thought was pointless.

Among the thousands of students in their campus, Pete was the only person whom Tin thought of as his equal. Pete, like, Tin came from a very rich and influential family. And, Tin hated to be around commoners whom he thought wanted one thing from him—his money or network or both.

"Would like to be in our group, Pete?" One of their female classmates asked.

"How annoying." Tin said as he pulled the chair beside Pete and placed his bag on the table.

"Oi, it's unfortunate that someone so handsome has a foul mouth. No wonder no one likes you" The other female said to Tin.

Tin, like always, could not be bothered with such comments. Pete apologized to the girls before he talked to Tin.

"Tin," Pete whispered. "You shouldn't say things like that."

"Why? Did I say something wrong?" Tin asked Pete.

"No. But still that is something you should not say." Pete replied. "Everyone used to love you."

"Because I am rich and what my last name stands for."

"Not everyone thinks like that, Tin."

"Why? What have you heard from those Thai Programs?" Tin questioned.

"What do you mean?" Pete asked perplexedly.

"Lately, I see you fraternizing with those Thai Program people. Rich people like us should only be with our own kind. Do not degrade yourself by associating with people who has lower social stratosphere than ours."

"TIN!" Pete said softly but with emphasis in his voice.

"Did I say something wrong?"

Tin looked at Pete sharply. However, Pete just remained silent and looked away.

After the class period was over. Tin was the first to leave the room. Pete gathered his things and put it in his bag. He walked after Tin.

"Tin, wait." Pete said as he ran after Tin in the hallway.

"What?" Tin was sounding annoyed.

"About what we talked earlier?"

"Nothing to discuss." Tin cut Pete.

However, Pete did not back down "Not everyone is like that. Ae is not like that. Ae really wants to help me."

"Um ..."

Tin smiled and nodded. Pete smiled as well. However, Tin opened his mouth again.

"But," Tin's face became serious again. "I don't believe that. See later. I have something else to do."

Tin left Pete. As he walked down the hallway, he could not believe how gullible Pete was. The more he thought about it, the more he hated the Thai Program people. He walked out of the lobby and walked across to the parking lot.

As he opened the door of his car, a girl approached him and grabbed him by the hand.

"Can you please give me a ride?" The girl flirted with Tin. "My house is not far from your house. Please, give me a ride, please..." The girl insisted.

Meanwhile, coming around the corner of the IC building was Can with his best friend, Good, following behind him. As he walked on the curb enjoying his lollipop, he saw the beautiful girl from the parking lot across the IC building.
