Chapter 8 : Day Adventure

"Aubrey. Hey Aubrey" poke. Maybe if I ignore the voice, it will go away.

"Ehi pigra, svegliati!" poke. Okay, maybe he won't go away. (Hey lazy, wake up)

I open one eye and see Jay standing above me, but upside down, looking slightly irritated.

"Don't speak gibberish to me, Ravioli." I mumble and shut my eye.

I heard him sigh and felt another poke to my head. I quickly swatted his hand away. "It's not gibberish, è la lingua Italiana. And move, sei nel mezzo." (It is the Italian language)

I grumble and sit up on the couch I had fallen asleep on. I put my hands up, "What?"

"I said 'you're in the way'. I want to sit on the couch and you have been hogging it." He sits down in the now empty space where my feet once were.

"I forgot you spoke Italian." I folded my arms across my chest and lean back on the couch, closing my eyes again.

"Yeah, well I don't use it often. Mainly because no one can understand me."

"That.." I open my eyes and point to him, "Is unfortunate. If I could speak another language, I would use it all the time. Especially Italian, I love the way it sounds." I pause when I saw the smirk on his face "Just not from you." He rolls his eyes.

"Forse posso cambiare idea." He moves his eyebrows suggestively. (Maybe I can change your mind)

I throw a pillow at him, and he laughs "Stop speaking Italian. How can I give a good comeback when I don't know what you're saying?"

"I'll stop when I want to stop. You can't tell me what to do because I'm in charge here."

I scoff, "Yeah sure whatever helps you sleep at night."

His eyes darken "Oh you don't want to know what helps me sleep at night."

There was an uncomfortable pause because I had absolutely no idea what to say. Frankly, I'm disgusted. "Pig." I finally said.

"Stronzo." He replies. (Pig)

"Ugh!" I throw my hands up. "Don't you ever have classes so I can get a break from you?"

"Lucky for you my classes are in the mornings, just like yours!" His fake grin falls. "How convenient. And, rude. You know I'm a great person to be around." He responds.

"I guess we're back to being enemies, that didn't take long did it?" I sigh.

"It's not my fault."

"Well, it's not my fault."

"It's totally your fault!" He exclaims. "You took up the whole couch for hours when you know good and well I wanted to sit on it.

"What do you mean hours? I got back 45 minutes ago!"

"Is that how long it's been? Wow time sure does move slow when you aren't sitting on the couch."

"Well excuse me for having a rough week. College classes are hard, and I have done more running around to wrong buildings than sitting in them!" I explain.

"You're excused."

"You're impossible!" I yell to him.

"No, I'm Jay!" He yells back.

I roll my eyes, "You're onto dad jokes now. I expected better, Ravioli, I really did."

"Oh, we're onto stereotypical nicknames now? I expected better, la bella addormentata." He mocks. (Sleeping beauty)
