I look up to see none other than James McVey. His eyes are filled with concern and worry as he waits for my response.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I fake smile, hoping he will buy my act.
He crosses his arms and gives me a stern look. "I don't believe you. You know you can tell me anything," he reassures me.
I sigh, "I know, James. I just don't feel to well. That's all. I promise. I'll let you know if something is up."
He hold his pinkie up, "Pinkie promise?"
I connect our pinkies together while grinning, "Pinkie promise!"
"Well I'm gonna go head back to lunch, but I hope you feel better," James tells me while leaning in for a hug. I hug him back, enjoying our brotherly sisterly moment.
I watch James leave the hallway, and walk back to the cafeteria. I resume forward, roaming around the halls until a hand grabs my wrist. I am suddenly dragged into a random room.
I try fighting me way out of the person's grip, but it's no use. Thankfully, I soon realize it's only Blake.
"You need to stop doing this to me," I laugh.
He puts a hand over his heart defensively. "What do you mean I need to stop doing this! This is the first time I've done this!" He gets defensive.
I roll my eyes, "I meant scaring me, you goofball."
His eyes light up when he realizes what I said. He awkwardly scratches his neck, a habit he has when he's embarrassed. He mutters a sorry and looks at the ground.
To break the silence I ask, "Why did you follow me?"
"Well, I saw you leave a bit upset, so being the kind person I am, I followed you. James got to you first so I hid to avoid any suspicion. I just wanted to make sure you were okay," he explains with caring eyes. Why does he have to be so perfect?
I feel blush rising to my cheeks, and I know for a fact he notices it. He continues speaking, "I also wanted to talk with you real quick."
"What about—" I begin to say, but am shortly cut off by his lips colliding with mine.
I forget about everything that's been happening. I can think about is Blake's lips on mine, and how much I am falling for this boy. In this moment, I am enjoying Blake's presence in this empty room. And there's nothing that's going to stop me.
