"Howdy, partners!" Reece runs over to us with George trailing behind.

"Hello Reece! And George!" I smile. George smiles back after catching his breath from running after Reece.

Thankfully this wasn't too awkward since Jacee already knew George and Reece. They were all in the same grade after all.

The whole class erupted in chatter as people paired up. Coach Myers had different plans though as he blew his whistle, "Listen up! Today we will be doing relay races!"

The room is filled with groans but is cut off by Coach Fisher, "The relay races will be done on scooters. Each time there will be a different task while on the scooter, and all members must complete the challenge."

Myers cuts her off and continues, "Each group grab a scooter and line up on one side of the gym!"

George volunteers to grab the scooter as the rest of us find a place to stand. I can already tell this will not end up well.

The first one is simple. We all just have to back pedal on the scooter across the gym. We somehow still managed to screw that up. That round we came in last.

The next one was lying on your stomach and having your hands push you towards. A bunch of girls in the class complained about their hands. Jacee and I, on the other hand, kept going so we could win. That time we came in third.

Before the third round started, Jacee turned to me and said, "Look! Your boy toy is watching!" I turn slightly to see Blake in the gym. Why is he here?

I can't even ask the boys because the next round has begun. This time it's like a wheel borrow. One person is lying flag on the scooter while the other is pushing them. It was a close call, but we earned second place.

"Okay kids! Final round! This time it's going to be like a chariot! One person will be on the scooter and two people will be pushing them. This time you can't turn using the wall. You must slingshot them to turn them and continue pushing!" Fisher yells.

We all look at each other with worry but also determination. We will win at least one round.

The whistle blows and Reece is off. George and Jacee successfully get him back. Next is George followed by Jacee. Finally, it comes down to me.

George and Reece are pushing me. I can see the team next to us is right on our tail. Reece and George take notice and begin to run faster. While doing this, Reece begins to fall. I turn around to have a Reece Bibby land on my face.

His face is inches to mine. Before I can try to help Reece off, I see Blake in the corner of my eye walk out the door. This isn't going to be good.
