Natalie and I had just gotten home. Brad was sitting in the kitchen since all of his friends left. He looks up from his phone and asks, "Who were you guys with again?"
"Abbie," I say.
His eyebrows furrow together in confusion. "Abbie who?"
"Abbie Richardson," Natalie replies, rolling her eyes. Brad nods and then says, "That's the one with the younger brother I don't like, right?"
I look confused while saying, "I think she mentioned a younger brother." I play it off with a shrug, wanting to see what Brad would say.
"I really can't stand that twat! Blake Richardson, what a dick," he exclaims. His eyes meet mine and he continues, "Whatever you do, don't go near him, talk to him, or say his name. I forbid it." He points at me.
Natalie and I just stand there dumbfounded. I wasn't expecting a lecture like that. Brad excuses himself and goes back to his room, leaving Natalie and I curious.
Natalie breaks the silence, "I didn't believe you when you said he hated Blake, but now I see it. I wonder what happened."
"Be quiet! We don't want Mr. Grouchy-pants to hear us!" I shush her.
I start walking to the living room when Natalie stops me. What does she need now?
"Oh, by the way, Abbie and I set up a date for you and you know who," she wiggles her eyebrows up and down.
I look at her crazily, "Are you stupid! Did you not hear Brad? I am forbidden to see him!"
She rolls her eyes, "Relax! I have things under control. I have an alibi if we need to use it. I just want you to enjoy yourself and not worry about Brad. Plus, you and Blake seem cute together."
"Fine! When and where?" I ask, starting to get slightly annoyed.
She looks down at her phone before responding, "2pm at the coffee shop on Main Street. Abbie and I will be not too far away in case something goes wrong."
"Does he know this is happening?" I question, trying to keep my voice down.
She perks up, "Yep! He agreed to everything and won't stop talking about you! At least that's what Abbie said!" I start blushing, hearing her words. That boy drives me crazy.
I tell Natalie I'll be in my room, mentally preparing for tomorrow. I walk past Brad's room when his voice calls out to me.
"Can I talk to you real quick?" He asks, his eyes filled with guilt. I nod in reply.
"Sorry about exploding back there. He just isn't the best kid out there, and I don't want you getting hurt, Harper. The last thing I want to hear is he did something," he states, giving me a hug.
"I won't do anything with him," but I already have.
