The party had died down, and only the members of the Princess Alliance, Bow Seahawk, Adora, my mom, and me were still here. Netossa and Spinerella just waved goodbye and had gone home. Adora was chatting with my mom who was chuckling awkwardly at something Adora said.

Bow came up behind me.

"Hey Glimmer. What are you staring at?"

"Nothing." I could feel my cheeks grow warmer like they had earlier that night in Adora's room.

He turned his head and followed where my gaze had been.

"Do you like her?" He asked.

"No! I mean I like her, but just as a friend. I've never even thought about it, or thought about her like..." I trailed off. My cheeks weren't hot anymore. They were on fire.

"You don't need to lie to me. You're my best friend. I would never judge you."

"I know that."

He smiled at me like he knew I wasn't finished.

"I just don't want things to change or be weird Bow."

"Things change Glimmer. We just have to accept that. Anyway would you really want things to stay the same way forever?"

I shook my head. "I don't even know if she's gay."

"I'm pretty sure she had a girlfriend in the Horde."

"Wait really?" I said. I wasn't able to contain my smile.

"Yeah. I think she and that cat girl dated."

"You mean Catra?"

"That sounds right. They slept in the same bed you know."

"Oh wow. Adora's leaving the Horde must have been really hard for both of them."

"I'm sure it was."

"Hey Bow?"

"Yeah?"

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?"

"Are you drunk?"

"No! My mom would kill me. I just think you're really amazing. You're going to make someone really happy someday"

"Glimmer stop. I can't cope with you being so nice all of a sudden. Now go bother Adora. I have to check on something."

"Okay."

Bow walked away and joined our friends who were laughing about something I couldn't hear. I went over to where my mom and Adora were.

"Hey Glimmer!" Adora said just a bit too loud.

"Where have you been Adora? I've hardly seen you all night."

"She's been talking to me." My mom answered for her. She sounded slightly annoyed and tired.

"What were you guys talking about?"

"Oh all sorts of stuff. Mostly about the Horde." Adora answered. She slurred her word just like when she was infected in Dryl.

"Wait, is she drunk?"

My mom nodded her head yes.

"Am I what?!" Adora shouted over the music.

"She didn't know there was alcohol in some of the drinks. I've been babysitting her for most of the night. Making sure she doesn't get into anymore trouble."

"You sit on babies?! And I thought the Horde was evil."

"It's an expression Adora." She said. The hint of exasperation in her voice was back.

"Mom, you should go have fun. I can watch Adora."

"I don't want to ruin your night Glimmer."

"No really Mom, it's fine. Anyways it might be fun to get to know drunk Adora."

"If you're really okay with it I do want to talk with some of the other princesses." She said. I could tell she was itching to get away.

"Yep. Now go mingle!"

My mom walked away and went to join the bigger group.
