"Yeri, you should see the new promoted Business Development junior assistant manager. He's a piece of a fine meat." Dahyun told her dreamily. They were in the middle of their obligatory morning coffee at the company's cafeteria when Dahyun updated Yeri with the latest gossips during Yeri's three days absence. Working at the HQ of one of the biggest Holding company in South Korea had peaks. One of them was a stunning cafeteria with meals and drinks that's exceptionally good. Including Yeri's drink of heaven, coffee.
"Since when do we hire a cow as an employee?" Yeri answered her jokingly, earning her a soft slap on her shoulder from Dahyun.
"What I'm trying to say is, he looks yummy." Again, Dahyun's answer made Yeri laughing out loud.
Yummy, really?
"With which sauce? Mushroom or BBQ?" Yeri rolled her eyes playfully, "What the heck with your thesaurus today? Are we talking about that new employee or your menu for lunch?" Yeri snorted in between her laugh.
"Just watch it yourself, Kim Yerim. You'll be surprise when you see his overflowing charisma. I won't bring you to the office's clinic if you fain - " Suddenly, Dahyun's eyes turned bigger at some object behind Yeri. She was sitting opposite the entrance so she failed to see who or what the hell that was making her friend's eyes turned bigger than saucer, mouth opened like one of the stone characters in Zuma game.
"Yeri," Dahyun whispered oh-so-excitedly, "He's here! Turn your back!"
With her words, Yeri turned her body around toward the mentioned person behind her back.
And yes, Dahyun was right. She was indeed shocked to see him. But no, not in a way Dahyun had expected. Overflowing charisma? Tsk, even her interest had shot down immediately after Yeri recognized that face. She turned her body back to her original position.
"Oh." Yeri response was plain and nonchalant, earning a weird glare from the girl opposite her.
"'Oh'? Seriously, Yeri? That's it? You aren't swooning over him? Jeon Jungkook is even more handsome than your Taeyeong." Dahyun exclaimed rather defensively. To her words, Yeri only eyed her amusingly, one eyebrow raised, her smirking lips covered by her coffee cup. Dahyun catch her implication well, "Yeah, maybe they're equal." Again, Dahyun's words made Yeri throwing her head in boisterous laughter.
"Oh, shut up Kim Yerim." Dahyun said, rolling her eyes before sulkily sipping on her coffee.
~***~
Jeon Jungkook.
Despite everything, hearing his name still brought a little smile to Yeri's lips. Why couldn't she? He was probably the only one serious crush - if that phrase was even exist - she ever had during university.
Yeri was the type of happy-go-lucky girl who was never afraid in connecting with new people. The real epitome of social butterfly, who had a fair share of friends from both of the genders. Sometimes being in friend could lead in a way or another to a more compromising one. Like crush. To top of that, Yeri had a flawless complexion as her added bonus.
So, having a dozen of crush during her four years in university was unavoidable for Yeri. But most of them were only harmless ones. Only to this one guy, Jeon freaking Jungkook, Yeri had to - unwillingly - accept an ugly thing called heart break snatching piece by piece of her heart and slammed those pieces onto the ground, for the first time.
