"So, there's a birdie told me that you're currently in the middle of reconciliation with that one serious crush." Kim Taehyung spoke nonchalantly during their shopping time, few days after Yeri's arrival from another business trip with Jungkook.
"I don't have such a thing during university." Yeri had also nonchalantly responded to his words, hands still busy inspecting a row of Louis Vuitton blazers. "And as far as I remember, Hyunsik oppa doesn't have wings and breathe with only a pair of lungs instead of air sacs."
"Whoops." Taehyung muttered lowly, but enough to receive one pointed look from the girl. "What? I didn't do anything illegal."
"Yeah right." Yeri sarcastically commented, "I'm sure someone as capable as Hyunsik oppa, COO of Hyundai, the host of my latest seminar, wouldn't do such a cunning thing like," She shrugged, "I don't know... spying on me?"
Taehyung gasped in dramatic horror, "Of course not! He's one of my best –"
"Unless... maybe his awfully close friend whose awfully wily and persuasive had asked him to do so. That oppa is one royal person." Before Taehyung even barely finished his sentence, Yeri already bit him back with words that left the male's mouth agape. Yeri hold back her laugh at the sight. "Oppa, now you look like a gold fish inside the aquarium."
"I don't know with what Imo had feed you until you become such a... smartass like this, Kim Yerim-sshi." He shook his head, clearly displeased at the check-mate he had received from the younger girl. "But that what family is for! To protect each other. Who would've know what kind of feeling that can form inside your heart after spending so many days together with him?"
Taehyung's words honestly hit so close to the reality. As Jungkook was a charming person, both personality and physically wise, it had make her heartbeat easily skipped at some certain occasions.
One time during their first business trip – the one with the shared penthouse – Yeri had caught Jungkook's glorious physique: naked torso, sweat pants hung loosely on his hips, and messy bed hair. Apparently, he was waking up late and thought that Yeri had already leave to the seminar alone. All he had been thinking that time was to check her shoes at the shoe rack, making sure his assumption. Jungkook had failed to notice her small figure behind the kitchen's counter, almost choking on her coffee after witnessing such a surprisingly good sight in front of her.
"I thought you're already leaving." Jungkook said with his hushed voice, as a result from rushing straight from his bed to the front door.
"I thought you're flaunting the result of your constant work out." Yeri responded with such an amusing tone, one eyebrow raised, smirking. "Very well done, if I have to comment." Her eyes traced on Jungkook's sculpted abs in a teasing manner.
Yeri remembered his face flushed in a deep shade of red when the realization sunk on him before running back to his room. Jungkook's funny expression gave out the laughter that already rolled in the tip of her lips. It was a good thing that Jungkook hadn't chose to act base on his shameful nature – Yes, Yeri knew perfectly he had that side of him – or else, the table could easily turn.
Other time, it was his good heart that caught her attention. During their journey back to the hotel from their discussion with one of the company's sub-contractor in Japan, Yeri had asked him for a coffee. It was already night time and nearing winter, totally cold. As they stopped in the nearest coffee store, Yeri had a chance to witness how Jungkook's kindness spread warmth inside her heart. He had bought two homeless person that sat, shivering just outside the café, two cups of warm drink for each of them with the cafe's paper bag. Yeri was instantly feel bad, as she already annoyed for has to wait a quite long time inside the car alone. All the annoyance disappear in the same time Jungkook's smile bloomed directly to her as he walk towards their car; with her warm coffee on his hand. Just like a bullet, it came through the tinted glass window, made her heart limp.
But no, of course Taehyung didn't need to know all of those stories.
"Frankly, you had given my not-so-nice university story to Hyunsik oppa, which is clearly an outsider, and feed him with such an empty prejudice about my relation with Jungkook." Yeri now faced him squarely with a greyish checkered blazer on her hand, "Protecting me, really Kim Taehyung?"
"Obviously I did that for a bigger purpose, so I guess that's acceptable." He shrugged, "And that blazer looks cool, by the way."
Yeri rolled her eyes at his response but finally let out a soft chuckle. No matter how irritating this cousin of her could be, deep inside, Yeri knew all of those exaggerated demeanor would mean nothing but for her favor. "Why are you so against him, by the way? Doesn't he one of your closest pal?"
Taehyung shrugged his shoulders. "Bro or not, if he still act like his old himself towards you, my fist will still lands on his perfect face." He answered in all seriousness, making Yeri's smile bloomed in appreciation. Didn't matter if she was the only child in her family. Taehyung's presence, whose oftenly took an act as exaggerated big brother, was more than Yeri had ever wanted.
"Oppa, I'm guarding my heart the tightest this time. I'm not the same naïve and dense university girl anymore, so you can lessen your worry. Let's cross the bridge when we get there, arraseo? For now, I've got everything under control." Yeri linked her right arm with his left one, slightly laying her head on his shoulder. "Anyway, thank you for your opinion for this blazer. I'm so buying this."
Taehyung smiled a little towards her gesture, "Dongsaeng or not, the moment he choose the same path as before and hurt your not so little heart, my dear grown up cousin, I will definitely kick his coward-ass so hard." He patted her head affectionally before pulled his body away, "Now, go make the purchase for the blazer. After that, we'll go to that Gucci store. It has repeatedly calling my name over and over again, so annoying..."
