"Is gastronomic operation affects the brain too, Kim Yerim-sshi?"

That voice got Yeri's mind reenter the reality. She turned her head back, opposite the window, standing in the door frame, one hand holding a package from her favorite bakery she could guess, was the very same man that got Yeri's mind wandering.

"Do you not know how to knock?" Yeri replied sassily. "And no, my head is perfectly fine. What with the sudden question, though?"

"I did! You're just too occupied to hear me." Jungkook answered in bewilderment upon hearing her answer, "because you're smiling, alone while having this distant look."

"Was that the sign of sickness?"

"No, i just want to tease you."

Yeri slapped Jungkook's shoulder when the aforementioned man sat on the stool beside her bed.

"Isn't the birthday celebration start now? Why are you here?" Yeri glanced at the clock on her phone while eyeing the sleek-looking man clad in black suit in front of her.

"I'm afraid you'll get bored. All alone inside this ward while your friends are having a good swing of delicious drink." Jungkook shrugged his shoulders before another slap landing on his another shoulder blade. "It is really delicious!" His grin was more than enough to made her giggles like the hormonal middle school girl. After the sound of her chuckle died down, Jungkook added quietly, "And honestly, I can't see myself standing anywhere but here." .

Yeri gave him a small smile, "Why?"

Jungkook shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly, "Don't know. Must be love." He answered.

The silent then fell upon them with both eyes staring straight at one another beforeJungkook's lips moved, mirroring the small smile that had plastered first on her lips.

"So," Yeri cleared her throat, "You didn't give me an impression as someone who understand the language of flower, kook."

Yeri was sure she'd caught a glimpse of surprise flash through Jungkook's eyes. Less than a second, but she saw it.

"Um, not sure what you mean?"

"Oh," Yeri feigned a surprise, "I thought you'd know. That was why instead of usual roses you gave me this bouquet of flower." Yeri pointed at the white flower on her bedside table.

"Roses are boring." Then, the man in front of her blinked twice. "And what exactly the meaning of daffodil, Yeri?"

Instantly, the question got her dumbfounded. How come her initial purpose, that to frame him up so she could figure out his intention, however, bite her back.

It didn't last long, though. Because her father had told her once, that bravery is something a human should possess. That way, nothing would dare to stand in front of her and fear would not drowns her in helplessness. The meaning of her nickname, Yeri, was sharp anyway.

"It is a new beginning and good fortune." She answered while staring straight on his magnetizing black orbs. "It was Chinese saying though. I don't know you have a knack in Chinese culture. However it is kinda confusing for me because I don't really sure which one you'd wish. The former or latter?" Yeri challenged him back.

The man in front of her let out a chuckle. "Which one do you like, hm?"

"I am a greedy person. I like both of them."
