"Mommy!" Hope's voice rings throughout the room. "Mommy! Wake up!"

My eyes flutter open and I look around the bedroom. Jake's off at work, and Hope's sitting on my bed, shaking my leg. "Good morning, Hopie."

"Morning!" She squeals. "Cade's still sleeping."

"Okay." I nod and roll out of bed. I glance at the clock and see it's only seven. Great, another early start. Usually, Hope doesn't wake up until nine, same with Cade, but lately she's been getting up pretty early. "Are you hungry?"

"Uh-huh!" Hope nods, leading me out of the room. "I want pancakes."

I nod and take her hand as we walk down the stairs into the kitchen. I turn on the baby moniter once we reach the kitchen, and Hope goes to watch the TV. I heat up her pancakes and put butter and syrup on tem, then cut them up.

"Hope!" I say, walking to the table. "C'mon, pancakes."

She runs into the dining room and sits in her spot, beginning to devour her breakfast as I hear Cade's voice through the moniter. It's almost eight now, so that was expected. I leave Hope for two minutes to go get the baby and put him in his jumper when we get back down the stairs.

-

"Hope, please put your brother down!" I yell to the four year old, who thought it'd be fun to dance around the living room with him. She's strong for beign four, from gymnastics, but not to the point to where she could carry a nine month old around the living room.

She sheepishly smiles and puts him down, knowing she's been caught. "Sorry, Mommy."

"It's fine." I sigh. "Just don't do it again."

"I won't." She says happily, and starts to play with some of her blocks. Cade takes one and she pouts, but lets him play with it.

I finish the dishes I was doing and dry my hands. My phone buzzes from next to me and I see it's a text from Emmi. I look to the kids to make sure they're okay before picking it up and reading it.

Can you and the kids come down to mom and dad's later? we have news :)

Emmi and her husband, Carson, had gotten married a few months ago, and had bought a house not far from us. I quickly text back a reply.

Yeah, sure. Jake's on a buinsness trip, but I'll def take the kiddos down.

I lock my phone with a smile, going into the living room and picking up Cade. Hope looks up at me and smiles, making my heart melt. "We're going to Grandma and Grandpa's today." I say, and Hope cheers.

"Is everyone gonna be there?" She asks excitedly.

"Yup, everyone."

"Even Uncle B?" Hope asked, reffering to Brock.

"No." I shake my head and smile sadly. "He's away at school. But Uncle Gavin, Aunt Alice, the girls, Uncle Dax...Those guys will."

"Okay." She smiles. "When are we leaving? What about gymnastics?" She begins to rattle off questions.

"One, gymnastics is tomorrow, silly. And two, in a little bit, so lets get going!"

-

"Lilia! Hadley!" Hope screams as we walk into the house. She runs off with the girls and I take Cade into the living room, where Dax and Winston play with him while he crawls around.

"Where's Em?" I ask Mom and sit a the breakfast counter. "Isn't she why we're all here?"

"She's with Carson, they're talking about the surprise." She answers, handing me a cookie, which I happily take.

"Oh." I say, taking another bite from the cookie. Brailee and Gage are away on trips for YouTube, so they couldn't make it.

"Grandma, we want cookies!" Hadley's voice rings throughout the house. The three girls come running into the kitchen and Mom hands them each a sugar cookie. A chorus of thank you'd are heard, and Emmi and Carson come down thw stairs.

"Auntie Em!" Hope squeals, attacking Emmi with a hug. "Grandma made cookies, want one?"

"No thanks, H." Emmi shakes her head with a laugh. "We were actually gonna tell the surprise now. Wanna hear?"

"Yes!" Hope gushes and runs into the living room. "C'mon, everybody! It's surprise time!" The three little girls sit on the floor, and I pick Cade up and put him in my lap. The adults are all seated on the couches, with Emmi and Carson standing in the middle of the floor.

"Tell us the news! I'm getting impatient!" Dad yells, vlogging this of course, and we all laugh.

"Well, we would, but you keep interupting!" Emmi laughs, and we all grow silent. "Well, we have some big news, as you all know."

"You aren't my sister, but secretly a spy sent by the president to come kill me." Daxton guesses.

"Um, no." Emmi raises an eyebrow. "I'm definetely your sister."

"It was worth a shot." Daxton shrugs and turns towards Winston. "We're out, Winst."

"Anyway." Carson laughs. "We have some news."

"Yeah." Emmi says, taking a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."

-

"So what're you gonna name it?"

"Is it a girl?"

"I want it to be a girl!"

The girls rattle off questions to Emmi and Carson, while the adults all are back to their normal conversations. The shock set in, so now I guess the girls think it's an appropriate time to bombard their aunt with a series of questions.

I laugh and feed Cade another peice of watermelon, which he eats greedily. It's getting chilly outside, the leaves falling off the trees. It's close to Thanksgiving now, and soon enough, everyone will be home for the holidays. Brock will be home from college for a month of break, and the kids will be off of school.

Family time's coming up, and I'm excited.
