ANGELICA
First of all, you should know I had never done his before. I had no clue what I was doing, and I easily could have killed Cas. But I need to explain what Castiel’s mind is like. Most people have emotions running rampant through their minds and thoughts, how you felt at the time, or memories connected to specific emotions. People keep memories organized, usually chronological or sorted by association with people. All your memories of your mother in one place and the like. It’s all very organized and neat. Cas wasn’t like that.
His mind is deep, and vast, like a huge body of water that makes you light and heavy at the same time. You’re completely surrounded by thousands of thoughts and memories, but there is a stunning lack of emotion. An ocean with no life. It’s all there, but it seems fake, like someone made it without aesthetics in mind. That sounded punnier that it was supposed to. He had memories, but with a supreme lack of emotion involved. Every once in a while a thought flew past, memories of me, or Dean or Sam.
These were brimming with emotion. Love, compassion, longing, respect, understanding, confusion, anger. Lust. It was strange to see that before that night in the shed Castiel felt nothing. Confusion, but that was about it. He was the perfect little angel. I was a bit thrilled and a bit confused as to why we caused so much emotion in him, but I didn’t have time for that. I pulled myself from the memories and merged myself with his mind. I needed control, not information. I blinked his eyes and looked down at my still body. I could feel Castiel squirming next to me, mentally, and I sent him a psychic nudge to calm down and trust me. He stopped.
I looked around, with Cas’ head, at the angels looking at my body on the floor. I could see their wings, not the normal ones I usually saw, but six wings and extra animal heads, glaring and hissing, and oh my God I might as well have gone mad again. I sucked in a deep breath and hoped this would work. I made Cas kneel down by my body and placed his hand on my cheek. I forced my body to shift uncomfortably. The cut I had gotten earlier was bleeding and leaking Grace along the floor around me. I made Cas pick me up and carry me across the room to set me on a low sofa. Everyone watched, still, waiting for some signal. I swallowed nervously, so no one could see and had Cas face them all.
THIRD PERSON
Castiel’s face was dark and angry, more upset than any had ever seen him. He walked among his siblings, taking weapons from them and throwing them into the carpet where they stood on end, hilt upward. He gave of an aura of rage and command that made the others shiver with fear. When did Castiel gain so much strength? He finally removed the last weapon and spun around to face the angels. He glared at them and shook his head.
“I’ve seen this before. On Earth. The father and mother leave, leaving a caretaker with them and the children fight. They hurt each other and the caretaker can do nothing. They sit and wait until the two sides hurt each other beyond repair. It’s not good, it’s not safe. But is happens. Are we no better than children?” Castiel said in a soft voice that seemed to carry around the room. Several angels looked ashamed. “I left for a few hours, a half a day at most and I return to find my family, my followers ripping each other apart? WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?” He roared making them flinch. Castiel waited for an answer.
“Cas, come now, be reasonable.” One person muttered. Cas glared at him.
“We are at war, Thatosin. Reason doesn’t fit here. If we fight among ourselves then how will we win and save heaven and earth?” Cas said aggressively. He looked around. They were all thoroughly ashamed at this point and Angelica, at the controls, knew it. “Get the injured to the infirmary. Send the Messengers to gather more kingsoy from the Garden to heal them with. And someone go inform Thadriel we’ll need the dark Chamber for the dead.” Cas said walking back over to Angelica’s body. The angels left the room quickly, retrieving their weapons as they went.
Castiel kneeled beside Angela and when the room was empty Angelica reclaimed her body and Castiel blinked back into power. He looked at her as she pushed herself up and shook back her wild messy hair. She grinned in a most un-angelic way and Cas shook his head. “And that is why you married me.” Angela said happily, pressing her nose against Cas’.
