Chapter 7: New Zealand
Katrina's POV.
YEY! It's Saturday! Quenji book us a vacation beach, with quira and his friends, I'm so excited hihi, malapit na ang finals, I think we deserve this despite all the efforts, struggles we've put in studies
I didn't waste time so I went inside my bathroom, I did my morning routine and took a bath after, I dress up already and fixed my stuff, bumaba naman na din agad ako para mag breakfast
"Goodmorning anak, Come join us" Mom greeted me with smile, she's having breakfast with tito richard, I kiss her cheeks first before I sat in my place
"You're early today kat, are you leaving? " tito asked
"Yes" I responded while slicing my pancakes
"My friends book a vacation trip, malapit na po kase ang finals" I added sabay kagat sa pancake, yum!
"Sounds fun anak, enjoy! But we have to tell you something before you leave" nakangiting sabi ni mom, I look at mom giving her look as a sign to speak
"We planned on getting married in New Zealand anak, we'll be living there too, after your graduation, everything was-" I stopped mom from talking after what she just said, it almost make me choke my milk
"What? Living in what?" I asked her, confuse.
"Yes anak, we are living in New Zealand, everything was all set, your visa and everything, aalis nalang tayo anak" she smiled looking proud for what she said
"But mom, I don't wanna live in New Zealand, my life is here mom! It'll be a huge adjustment for me to leave."
"But anak, there's a lot of open doors opportunities in New Zealand. If you're worried about adjusting, madali lang yon anak, months palang masasanay kana din" Mom answered, really trying to convince me, tito Richard is just silent, don't want to interrupt us
"Then why did you plan everything in the first place without even asking me? I'm a grown up na mom! I can make decisions for myself! why won't you ask me first? I have my life in here and my friends, I don't wanna leave-"
"And your boyfriend" Natigilan ako nang banggitin ni mom si quenji, how did she..
"How did you know?" I asked with my lower tone, I never mentioned quenji to them
"I know everything about you Katrina. You even tried to hide it from me? I'm your mother. You should have told me you have a boyfriend" She said with her voice full of authority
"And now the tables turn? I should be the one getting mad right now for making decisions without my permission" I tried not to raise my voice because she's still my mom, kahit galit ako
"I am your mother, I know what's the best for you anak"
"And what is it mom? Living in New Zealand makes you think the best for me?" I'm getting teary
I am mad because I have been so patient with her simula palang noong ipakilala niya si tito Richard, nakakagulat iyon para saakin pero tanggap ko, nahirapan akong tanggapin ang mag pakasal siya pero tinanggap ko pa rin, tapos ngayon mag d-desisyon siya na wala man lang akong alam.
