Pt. 2- The Fight

Warning ⚠️ There will be a lot of blood in this chapter!

Shiro's POV

I stood there, staring at Commander Thace, who was less than 40 feet away. His gaze was malicious, merciless and unforgiving. I just stared back at him, my own gaze cold, calm and emotionless. I was holding my galactic broadsword, the weapon of the Jet Crystal Bearer. Thace grunted roughly.

"So, you decided to show."

I said nothing. It wasn't a good time to speak. I would, but not yet.

"You, Jet Crystal Bearer, are brave."

Still nothing.

"Now, Takashi Shirogané, tell me. What's it like? What's it like to fight the Galra?"

I suppressed a flinch. I was getting into a dangerous situation. He used my real name. He wants me to talk. But I won't.

"Answer me!" Thace bellowed.

I looked him directly in the eye, as if daring him to talk more.

"YOU WILL WATCH THIS VERY PLANET FALL BEFORE YOUR EYES!"

Now was my chance. "No, I won't!" I growled, my voice like ice.

"So, you are able to speak after all." His eyes narrowed, a devilish smile spreading over his face.

"You will not take my home away from me!" I said, venom lacing the edges of my words.

Thace let out a wicked laugh. It sent chills running down my spine.

"No matter their efforts, by the end of today, the Jet Crystal Bearer will be no more."

I knew the others would be trying to reach me, asking for a plan, or backup, but I had taken my helmet off and tossed it aside earlier.

Now, I had to fight Thace. I summoned my shield, getting a good grip on my broadsword and stood my ground. Thace pulled out his sword too, although it was very different from mine. He laughed coldly.

"You sure are quite the fighter. But your time here will come to an end shortly, Jet Crystal Bearer." And with that, he charged.

Time skip

We had been going at each other for a very long time. It didn't help that some Galra soldiers would fire at us occasionally. I had several gashes on my arm, attempts to shatter my crystal. I also had a laser wound in my side, which was bleeding badly, and my right leg was burned. Suddenly, everything went white, and then we were standing in a endless world of glass, light, mirrors and gems. I knew where we were. The Diamond Dimension. 'This is what has been in my nightmares for the past 4 months.' I thought. 'I never knew what they had meant, until now.' The red blood dripping down my side made an eerie contrast to the glowing white material that made up this place. Thace charged, ramming the hilt of his sword into my gut. I was sent flying, landing roughly and doubling over in pain. I felt a burning sensation in my hand. I looked at it, seeing glowing purple cracks starting to break apart my crystal and forming on the skin beneath my fur.

'No,' I thought. 'No, this can't be happening!' I looked up at Thace. He was panting. I spotted a pendant around his neck. It was glowing, a dark purple, eerie mist surrounding him, and floating around me. 'Lunar Amulet.' I shuddered. I summoned my sword again and stood up, ignoring the pain in my side, arm, leg and hand. Thace charged me again, and this time, I gracefully flipped out of the way.

"You have courage, Jet Crystal Bearer. And strength. But you're already fading away." He unexpectedly swung his arm, his sword leaving a big gash across my chest. I fell backwards, blood  flying out of my mouth. I lay there, coughing up blood, not being able to move. Thace stood over me, one foot on my chest, pinning me down and making it hard to breathe. We were glitching between Earth and The Diamond Dimension, so I could hear my friends yelling my name, but no one came to help me. I looked at my arm, already the cracks had spread to my shoulder. I looked back up at Thace. His sword was poised to strike me with a death blow.
