Adam's POV

'I've been waiting for two hours now!' I thought. I was in the Garrison's medical bay waiting room, waiting for news on how Takashi was. I sighed, flopping back in my chair. About another hour went by, and still nothing. I was starting to get really worried. After another two hours, a nurse finally came out to get me. As she led me down the hallway, she spoke.
"Takashi Shirogané suffered from a bad asthma attack, as you are aware." I nodded. "He's in a stable condition now, but he's not regained consciousness." I felt a slight stab of panic run through me when we reached his room. The nurse turned to look at me, her eyes brimming with sympathy. "I'm sorry it took us so long to tell you this. We had to run a few tests, and stabilizing him was incredibly difficult." I looked down. She open the door for me. I nodded my head, thanking her. She started back down the hall. I took a deep breath and stepped in, closing the door behind me. I walked over and took a seat beside the bed. Takashi looked paler than usual, despite being a winged lion. He looked a hot mess. His black hair was scruffy. He was very pale. There was a breathing tube over his mouth, since he couldn't breathe on his own. I gently placed my hand over his, being careful of the IV in his arm. The loud beeping of the heart monitor filled the silence.

"Hey 'Kashi. I'm here." I spoke softly. "They said that they don't know when you're going to wake up, but you're not going to be out for more than a month. I'm sorry that I didn't get there sooner." I felt tears prick the corners of my eyes. "All of this is my fault. 'Kashi, you wouldn't be here if I had stayed with you." Tears slid down my face. I whipped them away. "I need you. I need you back home." I said quietly. I leaned down and kissed his forehead. "I love you Takashi. Don't forget that." I whispered. I felt my phone buzz. I opened it up, seeing that Holly had texted twenty two times in the past hour. She was mostly asking if Takashi was okay, since I had told her about what happened. I sighed. I texted her back saying that he was okay, but not conscious yet. I perked up when I saw a text from Pidge. They asked if they could come to the medical bay and sit with me. I smiled when I saw that. They were so kind and thoughtful. They knew when either Takashi or I was struggling. I texted them back saying that they could come.

About seventeen minutes later, the door open and the small eleven year old stepped in. I patted the chair next to me, indicating that I wanted them to sit down. They came over and sat down beside me, leaning their head against my shoulder. I put my arm around their tiny shoulders, pulling them closer to me. I smiled as they snuggled closer to me, sneezing as their hair got in their face. Even though our family was in a tough time, we still were there for each other, and nothing mattered more than being there for the ones I love.

Sorry, no word count today. (The little word counter at the bottom right corner wasn't there for some reason.) Anyway, hope you like this chapter. (I need more practice writing because these chapters suck!)
