Arianne was sitting in class next to Alya, listening to Marinette's father, Tom, talking about his everyday routine. Their parents had been invited to the school, since it was career day, so they could talk about their jobs. Arianne's father couldn't make it, but her mother did, and she had already told them about her job, and had even brought some cookies to give to her classmates.
Then, she saw Adrien getting into the classroom with a sad face, and she fixed her gaze on him. He had gone to call his father and see if he could come, but she assumed that he didn't answer. She leaned forward on her seat, and placed her hand on his shoulder for support. Adrien turned to look at her, and Arianne smiled a bit at him. He returned the smile sadly.
The girl was very angry at Adrien's father. Couldn't he see how much his attitude affected him? Even Arianne's mother, who was a very busy woman, had found time to come to career day, so why couldn't Gabriel Agreste do it, too? Even if it was just by video chat or something, at least Adrien wouldn't feel so alone, but he couldn't even do that.
Arianne feared that Adrien would become distant or secluded because of his father's attitudes one day, and she had made it her goal to make sure that he never felt alone. That's why she prepared breakfast for him on his birthday, and spent almost the entire day with him, so he wouldn't feel lonely.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Marinette fell to the floor, since she had tripped on something.
"Are you okay, Mari?" questioned Arianne, as she helped her to pick up the croissants she had been giving out to the class, the ones her father made.
"I'm fine" she replied, smiling at her friend.
"Geez, is there a day when you are not tripping over something?" questioned Chloe annoyed, much to Arianne's disdain.
"Chloe, is there a day when you are not being a pest?" said Arianne in the same way.
"Whatever" said the blonde, rolling her eyes. Sabrina's father walked to stand in front of the class. He was saying that he believed that every person is innocent 'till proven guilty, and that's when Chloe screamed that her bracelet was gone.
"That's a real tragedy" replied Arianne sarcastically.
"I had it a second ago!" complained Chloe, and turned to look at Marinette "You! You stole it!"
"What? What are you talking about?" asked the black haired angrily.
"You tripped on my bag so you could steal my bracelet!" she looked at Sabrina's dad "You're a policeman! Arrest her!" everyone gasped upon hearing that.
"My daughter is not a thief!" Tom spoke up.
"Hold on a moment, Miss Bourgeois. We don't accuse without proof" replied Sabrina's dad, walking further "Everyone calm down please. Maybe you simply just misplaced your bracelet" Chloe gasped.
"You're calling me a liar?" she asked in disbelief, and turned to look at her father "Daddy!"
"Roger! I demand you search this girl!" ordered the mayor, making Arianne open her eyes wide.
"Are you kidding me?!"
Since Sabrina's dad argued against searching Marinette without proof, he was fired.
"Good!" said Chloe "Let's call Ladybug! I'm sure she'll actually do something!"
"Chloe, shut up" said Arianne "You can't expect your 'daddy' to fix everything for you. It's a really pathetic life if you can't handle yourself alone"
