Lollie Parker

Lollie lifted her head from the sink, revealing her brown hair.

She hadn't dyed her hair in a while so why not now.

It was a change.

But maybe that's a good thing.

Riley stood in the hole touching Lollie's hair.

It was different for everyone.

"Riles? Ollie?"

"Peaches?"

"How are you two feeling today?" Maya asked.

"Well, I didn't cry all night." Riley said.

"That's good." Maya said.

Lollie hadn't said much of anything since Lucas called it quits.

"Because I stopped when I passed out from crying." Riley added.

Lollie smiled at her, "Well, you seem better now."

"That's where you're wrong." Riley said.

"Okay." Maya said.

"But the seniors wanted us to stand here, watch what goes on, and learn from it. They have their reason." Riley said.

"To make fools out of us?" Maya asked, "Mission accomplished. We're fools. We're fools without friends."

"They made their choice. They have started their high school careers without us and I wish them well." Riley said.

"Yeah. Maybe we shouldn't think about them today." Lollie said.

"Yeah."

Riley started crying, "I hope that Farkle remembers that science can't explain people and he keeps himself open to love."

"You gonna do one for each?" Maya asked.

"Yes."

"Give me a couple of bucks for a brownie." Maya said.

"Okay, Maya. I want juice."

"You want anything?" Maya asked Lollie.

"No."

She looked over at Noah, "You?"

"I'm good."
