Back to... somewhere?

It has been 3 days, and there still is no sign of the Sand Wraith valornear Reynir... Or anywhere.
"I know this seems bad, Sol. But I'm sure they are still out there. If they are anything like you, then that means that they'll be able to survive anything." With that said, Sol snuggled closer to Phoenix. They both liked eachothers warmth, it felt comforting.
"And if not, we still got each other. Isn't that right?" Phoenix said as she tried to comfort the dragon. A soft and loving croon came from the loyal dragon. With enough said out loud they had some unspoken words, they agreed to watch the sunrise. This also meant it was time they should head back home. And that would be Berk, not Reynir. As much as she had wanted to return to live here, there was nothing to return to. They both lost their family and rebuild it in their own special way. Both the gang and their dragons made them feel at home, be it on Dragons Edge or Berk. Then there was Phoenix's real brother and his Skrill, who also is kind of like real family to Sol. And even Gothi,
"Oh gods! Sol, we should get going. Gothi asked us to get her some herbs on the way back, and if we want to be back before sundown we should get going!" Since Phoenix was a healers apprentice she helpes out Gothi every so often. Gothi can be a little scary at times, but she is actually really sweet and treats me like family. But enough about all this sappy family stuff. Phoenix put the bow and quiver on her back, put the saddle on Sol's back and took one last look of the island from the ground. All the barely standing building had been overgrown with plants.
"Well, lets get back to Berk, boy. You ready?" She asked the Sand Wraith. He walked up next to her and she got on.
She looked back at Reynir from the back of her dragon untill it was nothing more but a small dot on the horizon. A tear rolled of her cheek.
Why must she still be so emotionall about this place. She wiped the tear away. Sol gave a concerned growl.
"I'm fine, Sol. It's me who should be worried about you after the last few days." She said as a smile got to her lips. Smiling. That's what always happened. Like her brother, she also wore a facade. We can be more alike then we think. But her's wasn't the serious face he had, she had a smile. Yes she often was happy but smiling makes you happy and vice versa. It suppresses other feelings so she doesn't have to bother other people. If she can make others happy, it makes her happy. And that won't change.

The island that held one of the herbs got closer. She had plenty of room in her bag since she and Sol didn't take much. Those 3 days they would hunt for their own food, so they don't bother taking any with them. A fire and each others body heat keeps them warm so they don't have to set up a whole camp. So, basically they took nothing but a bag to gather herbs and a map.Just in case. They take some herbs and leave for the next. This same thing happened for about 5 more islands.
"All these supplies should last for a while, unless something crazy were to happen to Berk." Phoenix said humorously.
"What do you say we get back to Berk, Boy?" Phoenix said petting the dragon. Weird... No response at all.
"Sol? You okay, boy?" Yet again... no response. Suddenly Sol trurned out of nowhere.
"What...? Were are you going, Sol?" She tried again. Sol built up more speed. What is he up to. He's not responding to her at all. She took a good look at the dragon. Those eyes... void of emotion. Wait? Didn't Hiccup tell us about this dragon controlling other dragons?  Could it be?
"Oh, no... We're in trouble..." Phoenix said to herself, though she hoped Sol would hear her in some way. Phoenix got her bow and took an arrow from the quiver. Putting the arrow in place she pulled the string ready to release at any moment if something were to show up.
"Sol... please if you can hear me, snap out off it! I might not know what we're about to face but I'll need you with me, not against me." With that said Sol's pupils dialated a little. He shook his head trying to get rid of the commanding voice that took oved his mind.
"Yes! C'mon, boy! You're strong, I know you can fight it!" Phoenix told the dragon determined. By now the bow had been lowered and the arrow got neatly tucked into the quiver again. Sol turned his head looking at his rider. The voice was still there, but had gotten softer. His eyes kept going from slitted to dialted at random.
"Can you hear me, Sol?" It took a while for the dragon to process what had been said with that voice filling the silences, but he answered with a worried croon.
"I'm sorry this is happening to you. I wish I could do something, but for now it might be best if we find out what is causing this... Whatever it is! Can you find the source, Sol?" Yet again there was a short pause before the dragon gave a reassuring growl.
"Be prepared for anything, just stay with me okay?" She said before the dragon shot off in response.

. . .

Hey, ya'll! I just wanted to let you know I've been trying to change my writing style a little by using less "someone said..." after some finishes talking, and I just wanted to know if you like it or prefer the old style. I know it's a little change but I'm trying to make it more intresting with writing like that, since it can be boring to repeatingly read the same thing over and over again. So let me know what you think.
