I took Nikki out alone for the day. I let her choose what we do.
She asks me to take her to the Venice beach Pier. She hasn't been on the pier yet, so we spend the most of the day there.
When we walk down the Pier, I talk to Nikki about her possibly moving in with Jack's mom.
She likes the idea. But asks that I still keep a room for her. Then she suggests letting Jo have her old room.
She does ask to sleep over, though. She said she missed me and she wanted to go visit the guys too.
So I call Kirsten after we make it to my place and have a long discussion. I'm scared that Kirsten feels she has to take Nikki. I don't want her to feel like I'm taking advantage of her or like I'm in any way dumping Nikki on her. I know that Nikki is my responsibility and I don't want to make Kirsten feel as though she has to take it.
I voice to her my insecurities and she reassures me that that's not the case. She says that yes; she does feel it would be safer for Nikki to live with her, Ava, and Isla, but that it is also totally my decision.
She tells me that I've already got more than enough responsibility with the boys; enough stress, enough worrying, enough crazyness.
She reminds me that I'm still only a kid. A nineteen-year-old shouldn't have to raise a kid and work a twenty-four-hour job. Or have had to go through everything that I have over the past year.
I agree to let Nikki go and let her know how much this matters to me. How I appriciate her help and I'll help her with anything she'll need for the girls or anything the girls want.
"Colby, you take care of my Jack." She says. "The least I can do for you is return the favor with your sister."
I let out a little giggle. "I suppose. But I still insist on at least contributing to the costs. Think if it like child support."
"That's fair." She laughs. "Alright, Cole. Take care okay?"
I smile, thinking about how simular her and Jack's laugh are and at the same time Jack's has something special. "I will. Thank you, Kirsten. Bye."
I hang up and then I head upstairs with Nikki.
"Alright, my little Hell-towner, what song were you thinking of recording?" I poke my head into Nikki's room, where she's sitting on her bed messing with her camera.
She perks up, setting her camera down. "Oh! Actually..." she trails, her cheeks heating up. "I wanna sing Ring of Fire with you."
I chuckle. "Alright, well I suppose I can work on an arrangment for it. Give me a couple hours."
"Can I go see the guys while you're working on it?" She questions. "I'm almost done packing!"
"Yes, if they aren't busy." I reply. "Actually, Jonah and Jo could bring you up because they've gotta stop in here before."
"Okay!" She grins. "Gosh they are so cute together. They're like my favorit ship."
"Are they?" I question, tilting my head with a laugh. "What about Jack and I? I thought we were."
"I mean, I love Jolby. but Jojo's my favorit." She gives me a guilty smirk.
I laugh. "That's only because I'm your sister."
"Maybe." She giggles, then hears the door open and bounces off her bed. "Do you want me to send Jack down?"
"If you want to." I smile before letting her disappear. "And ask him to bring his electric-accoustic?"
