Chapter 3

Sara's POV

I got wake up early this morning to make breakfast to Ava, but when I woke up my phone rang... It was Gideon ugh.

"Gideon what's the problem? I thought I specially told you not to call" I said pissed that my own AL didn't listen to me.
"I'm sorry Captain but Zari got insured..." Gideon told me.
"How's that? What happened?" I started to stress, what have they done again?
"She was doing minor reparation on the waverider and than..." she annonces me.
"Okay fine I'm on my way, Ava will be mad when she'll wake up but it seem like I don't really have the choice." I was so disappointed, in Gideon and the team but more about have to leave Ava while she's sleeping.
"I'm sorry about that Captain Lance, but I'm sure Director Sharpe will understand..."
"Okay thanks Gideon I'm on my way"
I hung up with Gideon and wrote a letter to Ava to warn her that I had to leave, I'll call her later to give her the details. I really hope she won't be too mad after me.

A few hours later,

Update, Zari is fine it wasn't anyway important, but now I think it's time for me to call Ava and explains her everything.
So I decided to call her from the jump-ship to have a bit more of privacy.
She answered pretty quick.

"Hi Ava, have you seen my letter?" I asked her hoping she wasn't mad.
"I did... what happened?" Oufff she doesn't looks so mad.
"Well long story short Zari injured herself so Gideon called me this morning, even though I especially told her not to, but anyway I had to go and see if everything was fine and also if Zari was fine..." I explained to my girlfriend in hopes she would understand.
"It's okay I understand." She said.
"So you're not mad?"
"No, I'm not... I was a bit sad this morning when I woke up and noticed that we weren't there but it's fine." She told me, I feel so bad about leaving while she was still asleep.
"Look I'll make it up to you, what about... Humm... you coming over tonight?" I suggested.
"I don't know... Don't get me wrong, I love sleeping next to you but less having to share a bathroom with 5 other people..." she told me. I pouted but then I had an idea.
"What?" Ava asked me,she knew I had an idea.
"Well I just got the perfect idea! Can you come on the waverider in like an hour?" I asked her without giving her any hint.
"What is it? Why?"
"Shut up and she come on the ship, I'll explain later" I said, she have to stop asking questions and just acts.
"Okay okay I'm coming, I'm coming" she repeated twice.

I had the perfect idea for us to spend more time together but I first had to arrange everything. First I had to talk Nate, and ask him if he could be in charge of the Time Bureau for 4 days  so I called him.

"Nate hi!" I said when he answered to my communiqué.
"Sara,hi! What's up?" Nate asked me.
"Okay so listen... I would need your help on something."
"I'm all ears..." Nate respond.
"I would need you to be in charge of the bureau for 4 days." I told him.
"Umm why is that? Where's Ava?" Nate asked. He must be confused and I get it.
"You can't tell Ava anything about this. It's a surprise. I'm planning to take her away in the 20s or the 50s... I'm not sure about the era yet... anyway it's a surprise so don't say a word to Ava or I will kill you."
"Yeah of course, I can help you. But are you sure Ava will agreed with this?" Nate asked... yeah of course I guess she'll be mad at first but when I'll explain her everything,she'll be excited.
"Yeah of course don't worry about it big guy. Anyway thank you! See ya!" I said.
"She's lucky to have you, you big softie." Nate told me with a big smile.
"Yeah..." I hung up. I don't like showing my soft side to anyone but Ava, I supposed to be the fearless and badass Captain Lance.
Okay now I have to find someone to put in charge of the Waverider while I'm gone... Always the hardest part.

"Sorry Captain but if you are going away with Director Sharpe for 4 days... who will be in charge of the Waverider?" Gideon asked me.
"I know Gideon, I know, I was asking myself the same question." I said.
"I mean, 4 days is very long..."
"Okay Gideon, I'm putting Zari in charge. But I want you to help her if needed." I command.
"Of course Captain." Gideon respond.
"Okay now Gideon I want you to tell everyone to join me on the bridge for a team meeting." I asked.
"As you demand Captain Lance."

A few minutes later, on the bridge.

"What's up? Why the meeting?" Zari asked.
"Yeah what's going on?" Ray also asked.
"I was busy! What's going on?" Rory asked.
"Where are John and Charlie?" I asked.
"Here love!"John yelled.
"Not so loud Johnny-o" Charlie complains.
"Why the meeting?" Zari asked once again.
"Okay so I wanted to let you know that I won't be there for a few days..." I annonce.
"Where are you going?" Ray asked.
"If you must ask, Ava and I are going on a 4 days romantic retreat." I confirmed. The legends started to "ohhhhh"
"Ugh shut up! Ava doesn't know it yet, it's a surprise. And also we will be taking the jump ship."
"Okay but while you're gone, who will be in charge?" Zari asked.
"You!" I said.
"What? Really?" Zari felt confused.
"I choose you, end of discussion. In need Gideon will be there." I said.
"I'm always here!" Gideon said.
"Yes you are Gideon. Anyway Ava will be here soon so dismiss."
"Have a great time with Director Sharpe, Captain!" Zari wish me.
"Will do,Z. Thank you." I winked.
"I'll be in my room with my porn and my beers." Rory said. Rory is just been Rory that's all.

Few minutes later.

I was in my room when Ava portal in.  As soon as I saw her face I became nervous.
"Ava! Hi!" I said with a nervous tone.
"Hi... why you look so nervous, babe?" Ava asked me.
"I'm not nervous, simply really excited" I tried to hide how nervous I actually was.
"Babe, I can tell really easily when you are either nervous or trying to hide things from me... But why all those suit cases anyway? Where are we going?" She asked me.
"Okay so it was supposed to be a surprise but since I'm apparently not good at keeping secrets from you... I planned a 4 days romantic getaway for us. And before you say anything I care to let you know that I've plan everything, I asked Nate to take in charge the Time bureau, I put in charge Zari of the Waverider and Gideon will help her..." I told her.
"Woah okay, it sounds like you got everything planned. Where are we going?"
"That is a surprise." I smirked.
"Exciting!"
