Peter Parker: A New Hope

Adjustment Period

It took a few hours for everything to sink in with Peter. He had a dad now. His dad is the most awesome Avengers, Iron-Man. The Tony Stark is his father. It was still processing.

After a few hours of sitting with Tony and catching him up on everything he missed he was glad to hear that his father actually approved of his choices in life so far.

But then he had to have his phone ruin the moment.

Tony smiled smugly as Peter answered the phone,Peter had his choice in music. He was so gonna brag to Pepper bout this.

Hey Peter it's Michelle

Look Michelle I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier I was just in one of those moods

Uh-huh whatever of you want to make it up to me get your but to Joes Coffee shop by 6 we're having a decathlon meeting. You might not like it.

The phone hung up and Peter gulped a little, "Ugh I gotta go Mr Stark, I mean Tony, no wait um?"

"It's okay kid, go on," laughed Tony loudly.

Peter smiled and ran out the door of the compound heading towards the city while pulling on his mask not bothering to change into his suit and began swinging towards Joes Coffee Shop.

He jumped onto the roof of the opposite building and he could see some of the decathlon team sitting by the window.

He pulls off his mask and slowly makes his way down the fire escape. Once he was in the alley he tucked the mask into his pocket and approached the Coffee Shop. He stopped when he saw Flash sitting in the shop with a black eye and bruised jaw. He felt awful for losing control.

He sighed ams stepped inside, the team were laughing butbsoon stopped when Peter entered the coffee shop. Michelle raised an eyebrow and pointed to an empty chair beside her. Peter took notice that his best friend Ned Leeds wasn't there. But as wad indicated he sat down next to Michelle.

"Peter we've been talking and we are thinking about...taking you off the team," said Cindy awkwardly.

"Fine," said Peter with a shrug.

"Seriously Parker, you're letting this happen, we need you for nationals!" said Michelle angrily.

Peter just shrugged and stared at the floor.

"Yeah I don't think it matters, you guys would've had me out a while ago but I actually don't care. I am sorry for being an inconvenience to you," says Peter feeling down. The team notices and they all feel bad, even Flash.

Peter gets up and moved towards the door ignoring the team. But obviously he has to go an notice the man at the counter had a gun.

The man pulled the gun on the barista and she began to panic along with everyone in the shop. Peter being Peter obviously wanted to help.

The man was demanding for money from the girl while everyone watched on terrified.

Peter's team mates want to shout out to him to stop but Peter walked up to the man and tapped his shoulder.

The man turned and Peter winced before snatching the gun out of the man's hands quicker than lightning.

"Wow and I thought Starbucks was bad," joked Peter as he threw the gun aside. The man lunged at khim but Peter stepped aside and the man hit the floor.

Peter smiled and grabbed at a pressure point on the man's shoulder that Rhodey told him about once. The man screamed in pain and attempted to move but couldn't.

"So have a nice time in prison dude," said Peter as he winked at the barista making her blush and left the coffee shop.

The decathlon team all sat with open mouths, Flash was the first one to voice their thoughts.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?"

Peter made it to an alleyway and began to freak out. He couldn't believe he let out his Spider-Man side in front of the decathlon team. His ex team mates.

He notices his phone ringing and he sees that it's Michelle that is calling him. He ignores the call and hides behind a dumpster and changes into his suit. After pulling the mask over his head he shoots two webs at the buildings and launches himself upwards. He swings from building to building attempting to comprehend what was going on with him.

He usually had control over his emotions but that....that was his confidence finally breaking through from Spider-Man to Peter Parker.

He kept swinging until he made his way back to the compound. He didn't care about anyone else seeing Spider-Man running through the halls. He needed to talk with Tony.

He ran along the ceiling to avoid the busy corridors and eventually made it to Tony's lab in the north wing.

"TONY I NEED YOUR HELP!" yelled Spider-Man as he entered the lab. Tony was sitting with Pepper, May and Happy when he entered.

"What's up Pete?" he asked showing deep concern.

"I screwed the pooch hard Tony, I was in a coffee shop and I left the decathlon team because of some stuff and a guy pulled a gun on a girl and I just....reacted. I took the gun and made jokes while I beat him up!"

Tony looked concerned,"You didn't web him up or anything?"

Peter shook his head and Tony smiled,"Then we can day that I payed for you to be trained in MMA or something as a cover story."

Peter let out a shaky laugh and pulled off his mask and hugged Tony.

"Thanks for caring Dad!" said Peter happily. Tony felt a little choked up at the statement and felt tears price his eyes.

May simply smiled and leaned against Happy closing her eyes as she felt tiredness grow over her.

"May, my love it's time for you to join me," said a familiar voice. May opens her eyes to see Ben Parker smiling at her. He holds out his hand and she takes it with a smile. They both walk towards the light happy to be with each other but pause to look at Peter.

"He's growing into a fine man May, we did good," said Ben softly.

"I know my love...he's gonna change the world," says May lovingly as she hooks her arm around Bens and they both smile welcoming deaths sweet embrace.
