Derek swallowed, looking down. It was only natural for her to receive a summons from the other purebloods. She was one, so of course. Of course they would express an interest in her. For some reason though, it bothered him. For her to be summoned only meant one thing. They've extended the olive branch. Not the good kind either.

This olive branch had thorns, of course. Leila was a newly turned werewolf; a Luna who'd found most of her pack, and a pureblood. It was the perfect thing for them, since the purebloods at this school had other motives behind it. Most of them were blooded as Alphas, meaning they had packs of their own. Though Derek had only been here for two months he'd seen it. Everything. The power the purebloods at this school had was a little overwhelming...if you were marked and scented into one of their packs, you were special and you were protected by the other packs. It was like a club--no. An army. They were forming an army. A barrier. Derek had no clue what their motive was, but he'd been against it since he was brought here. He knew at heart that their motives weren't good.

They wanted to fight against the werewolf government, but not in the best way. They wanted to riot. To overthrow. To go out in a bloody bang, and finish everything in one fell swoop. After a moment, Leila sighed.

"Would you say something?"She asked. Derek was pulled from his thoughts. He sighed and closed his eyes.

"What does that have to do with making the pack decide?"Derek asked. He looked at her. "You're a pureblood, you were the one they recognized to join them. Really it shouldn't concern the rest of the pack, other than me since I'm your Alpha." Leila sighed at him again. She moved, sitting on the bench in front of him. He stared across the sitting area at her.

"I already told you. I don't want to control anyone...people have rights,"Leila answered. Derek slowly nodded once at her. He looked down.

"So you want to call a pack meeting in order to decide what to do?" Leila hummed at him.

"Exactly. We call a pack meeting...everyone votes." She crosses her arms.

"What's your vote?"Derek asked her. Leila looked at him. She frowned hard and moved, her thumb nail grazing across her bottom lip. Derek stiffened as he watched her, his eyes zeroing in on her lips. Jace's voice came back in his mind.

"Your rose can be stolen from the garden if you don't pick it first."

Derek tore his eyes away, shaking the thought off. What the hell? He wondered. He mentally sighed at himself, wrinkling his eyebrows. Leila didn't think anything of it when she looked back up at him. She thought he was just mulling over the decision of what had been offered to her.

"Nora told me that they were forming an army,"Leila told him. She moved, crossing her arms. Leila frowned hard. I should tell him what I found out while I was at my parents, she thought. Leila dug her fingers into her arms. "Based on what I've learned at my parents house today...it's more than likely true." Derek glanced at her. "I'm adopted, however my birth parents left a message for me. Apparently, there have been plots to overthrow the government brewing for a long time." Derek frowned.

"Is that right?"Derek asked. Leila sighed. "Who exactly are your birth parents?"

"I don't know...they didn't say,"Leila told him. She looked down, remembering the initials at the bottom of the letter. H.R. I wonder who that is... Leila sighed and looked up at him again, her eyes tracing over his confused and frustrated look. He frowned hard.

"So you have no clue.. Based on Nora's words, and your biological parents...you believe that they're making an army?"Derek asked. Leila hummed once and nodded. "What else did your parents say?" Leila sighed hard.
