Nora spent the remainder of the week in her room. She had barely eaten anything, and had barely seen anyone save for Leila. Leila sat on the couch in the room joining the two dorms by herself, brooding over the events that had been happening. Anakin was preparing for his first change, and Gina told her she could be there if she wanted to. He'd asked her to be there. Leila was sitting still, wondering just what to do. Nora wouldn't leave, her brother was shifting, and she was having weird problems between her and Derek. And Charlie.
For the past week, Derek was sitting with her all the time, following her around. He'd send rough glares at Charlie any chance he got. Charlie was no different, hanging around her when Derek wasn't there and pretty much glaring holes in Derek's head. Leila was so confused, and overwhelmed. She had no idea what to do.
In Anakin's dorm room, the one he shared with some people he wasn't too familiar with, he was reading a book about what would happen to him during the change. The teachers had been handing out these little booklets to all the students who were shifting this upcoming weekend. He sighed and closed the pamphlet, tossing it on his desk. His eyes turned to his phone. He picked it up and scrolled through his contacts. I kind of wish I had Nora's number, he thought. He wrinkled his eyebrows. He sighed and picked Leila's number, calling her. Maybe I can get it from Leila?
Nora turned her head to Leila's side of the room, hearing her phone ring. Leila had just hopped in the shower and had left her phone in the room. Nora sighed hard and stood up, walking to the phone. She picked it up and blinked. On the contact it said "Brother". What would Anakin be calling about? She wondered. She shrugged and answered it, putting the phone to her ear.
"Hello?"Nora spoke. Anakin blinked. That definitely hadn't been the voice he'd been expecting.
"Uh, is this Nora?"He asked. Nora frowned.
"Yeah, it is. Leila's in the shower...what's up? Something happen?"Nora asked. Anakin shook his head before he remembered no one could see him. He nervously scratched the back of his neck and sat up on his bed.
"No, I was actually calling to see if she'd do me a favor...I can call back later,"Anakin told her. Nora hummed. She held the phone still, not hanging it up. Part of her felt compelled to talk to him more. Nora slowly lowered herself down on Leila's bed, staying silent. Anakin swallowed. Why is this so awkward? Why do I feel like she's waiting for me to talk? Anakin sighed hard. "Actually, the favor was about you?" Nora blinked.
"About me? What's up?"
"I hadn't seen you in a while....I was just wondering if you were okay, so I was gonna ask for your number to text you,"Anakin told her. Nora's eyes went wide. He swallowed hard. Nora hummed once. After a little more silence, Anakin coughed once. "Uh...well..."
"I'll....hey, are you busy right now?"Nora asked. Anakin frowned.
"No, not at all."
"Would you like to maybe meet up and talk somewhere? I haven't been out of the room much...you know, so..."Nora murmured. Anakin's eyes went wide. A smile tugged at his lips. He hummed once.
"Where would you suggest?"Anakin asked. Nora's eyes lit up. She smiled to herself. Part of her was glad, she hadn't been out since her eyes reverted to being mismatched. She swallowed.
"There's a rooftop garden at the school....meet me there? Just take the elevator all the way up." Anakin hummed. They both hung up and Nora dropped Leila's phone on the bed. She walked over to her closet and got dressed. Nora brushed her hair out and flipped it over in her normal way that she wore it when it was down. When Leila opened the bedroom door, Nora glanced at her as she tied on her combat boots. Leila blinked in surprise.
