it has been another hour since your dad went in for surgery and you've fallen asleep on Will's shoulder. Connor has entered the waiting room and Will wakes you up by gently shaking you.
"Sorry I fell asleep after a long day what's the news?" you ask as you stretch the last feeling of sleep away
"he is going to be fine," Connor says putting your worried heart to rest
"ok that's good, thank you for letting me know," you reply as you get up
"(Y/N)?" Tommy asks
"yes, Tommy?" you reply
"do you think dad will give a good explanation?"
"I honestly don't know," you reply hoping that he will give you a good explanation
"anyway
"Will and I will get going," Jay says
"ok, that's fine," you say as you all get up
"Tommy, are you coming?"
"no, I'm going back to my hotel room because I don't want anything to do with him" he replies
"ok it's just he wants to see us both," you say wishing he would change his mind but you know he won't
"well he's the one that left," Tommy says
"I'm leaving Chicago tomorrow anyway,"
"ok, I see there is no convincing you then," you say

Another hour later and you are sitting with your dad, who has woken up. Tommy has left.
"Hey, dad," you say starting the conversation
"Where's Tommy?" your dad asks
"he had to leave, so he could catch a plane back to Portland," you say telling him a somewhat truth
"any way you have some explaining to do"
"yes... well I wanted to explain to both of you but," he starts off but he stops because he thinks you won't like the explanation
"dad you might as well tell me," you say
"well I was having an affair and I thought it would be easier on your mum if I left instead of her finding out but things didn't work out so I joined the military," he says
"look, dad, I forgive you but I don't think Tommy ever will and besides mum had help," you say reflecting on the time you had with Alexander
"well Jules did raise you to be the forgiving type," your dad remarks
"Well dad I should be going home so I can rest for my shift tomorrow," you say checking your watch
"and thank you for the explanation,"
"I just wanted to let you and Tommy know why and see you tomorrow," your dad says knowing you will check on him tomorrow
"love you, dad," you say as you leave
