Chapter 23: Game and Cat

           I woke up and raised my head from the hard covers of the books. I had an headache.

Ugh! Did I fell asleep again?

          My watch was showing 9:50 p.m. It had been three hours since Joe went home, and the whole day was a complete waste of time. I had loads of homework to do and I didn't even start one of them.
I HAVE A FREAKING EXAM WEEK COMING UP
Calm down...

        I went downstairs to get a pain killer, then back to upstairs to study. The rest is blank.

       Waking up with a text of a freak, I was feeling tired. I took my phone and opened the text.

Unknown N: Good morning beautiful.

Is this guy serious?

         Laying on bed, I thought about this stalker situation for a while. When you really think of it, this stalker actually makes me feel worthy. Not that I'm feeling worthless but someone is thinking of me no matter how creepy he is.
I texted him back. "Good morning"
The reason why I kept replying to his texts is not that he makes me feel worthy but no matter what, I don't want to be rude or harsh on someone just because they have some unhealthy feellings towards me.

The next message was from the group.

Harvey: Good morning and good news everybody. I just talked with Nick, he said he could help.
Beth: Yay!
Beth: Good morning.

All of a sudden, a bad feeling covered me like something bad was going to happen.

Unknown N: Well, tbh I wasn't expecting for you to text me back. How are you?
Me: Don't push your limits.
Unknown N: Ok, sorry.
Unknown N: I heard you and your friends talked to a hacker to learn who I am but that's a waste of time. You cannot find it like this, it is not that simple.
Me: At least it's worth trying.
Unknown N: You know the best for yourself dear, but I have a better offer if you'd like to listen.
Me: Hmm... Let me hear it.
Unknown N: Then our "game" shall begin.
Me: Game?
Unknown N: Yes, the one I told you about before.
Me: What is it?
Unknown N: I'll explain now.
Unknown N: Basically, I will give you some tasks. In each task you have successfully done, you will be one step closer to who I am.
Unknown N: If you tell anyone else about this game, I will hurt that person even though I hate seeing you sad, or hurting someone you care about. This is the only rule: Don't tell anyone about the game. You can quit anytime you want.
Me: What kind of tasks are they?
Unknown N: You will see when you agree to start the game.
Me: What if I don't agree to start?
Unknown N: I know you will. I know you better than you think.

He actually was right. I wonder what will happen if I choose to play with him. I may be -and I probably am- underestimating, but what can possibly happen?
Me: I'm in.

Curiosity killed the cat,
but satisfaction brought it back.
