"where is joohyun unnie?"
sooyoung suddenly walked away from yerim, causing the younger to be taken aback and grab the older's wrist. "unnie? are you okay?"
"yerim... i-i need..." sooyoung began to mumble until she finally felt her senses. she finally snapped out of whatever had just overcame her. "i'm sorry, it's just... i haven't been myself lately."
"well now that you're okay, would you tell me why you were a trainee? i'm curious."
sooyoung nodded as she quickly wrapped her hand around yerim's and led them to a closet. "unnie..." yerim began to say before sooyoung shushed her.
"i know that this isn't ideal for storytelling, but i also know that there's no other private room where no one else would be."
"okay... tell me then," yerim said as she sat down on the floor and motioned her hands for the latter to do the same.
sooyoung felt her anxiety grow as each second passed. she was now staring at the girl with eyes full of guilt — hoping that the latter couldn't see it. "well... it started when i was in high school... i-i wanted to be a singer. i wanted to perform for a living. i even met some of my greatest friends here. but something..." sooyoung began to say as she began to sob and cry, apologizing to yerim as the latter would try her best to comfort her. "i'm sorry, it just- it still hurts s-so much... i-i killed my sister... she was so upset with her life and i pushed her to her limits until she decided to overdose on her pills... in such a horrible sister."
yerim couldn't believe her ears as she held sooyoung in her arms in the form of a hug. she felt guilt for the older girl as she hadn't realized that sooyoung had always made the first move. "why didn't i notice that? she always approached me first..."
"unnie, it's okay, really... it's not your fault."
"yes it is! i should've looked after her and cared about her, but i just ignored her," sooyoung screamed as she took a glance at yerim and then placed her face in her hands.
she just wanted to be with joohyun, the girl that was there when sooyoung felt upset. joohyun had always been a mother figure to sooyoung— which was exactly what sooyoung needed.
sooyoung wiped her tears as yerim desperately began to cry out of guilt. nothing else seemed to matter to the older girl, but to find joohyun and forget about the thoughts of her late sister.
"where are you going, unnie?" yerim sniffled as she watched sooyoung grip onto the door handle, prepared to leave the room.
"i need to find joohyun unnie. you can come with me or not, your choice," sooyoung harshly stated, causing yerim to stand up and hold onto the older's hand.
"look, whatever's making you upset, it's making me upset too. i'm coming with you and i'll support you, no matter what happens, okay? just please don't be a jerk to me... it reminds me of sorim unnie."
sooyoung nodded as she opened the door and began to look around the building for joohyun.
"do you know where joohyun unnie is?"
"do you know where the beautiful and talented unnie is? joohyun unnie?"
sooyoung asked around the entire building, ending with no answers. yerim could feel sooyoung's anger, despite the two still holding hands. the younger was willing to do anything for her best friend, yet she felt powerless in such a large building with no connections to anyone else but sooyoung.
the older girl was now visibly boiling with anger as she gripped yerim's hand tighter and dragged her across the halls. "one of these rooms... one of them should be where joohyun unnie is..."
