sooyoung woke up with an aching back and chest. she had finished all of her homework from the past night, so she wasn't surprised by her state of pain. she had gotten used to it, as no one else was there to calm her down or make her happy. of course, she had seungwan, seulgi, and joohyun, but she had figured that they had their own lives to live. after all, they were supermodels and near-coming-singers with tight schedules.
she had always wanted to follow her dreams and become a singer as well, but she also wanted to help children and become a kindergarten teacher. she ended up taking primary school teaching as a major in college and having vocal lessons on the side, as she didn't know what she wanted to pursue the most.
her mind was now set on getting out of bed, getting dressed, and driving to college. as soon as she was able to do that, she immediately started driving to sm university.
as usual, she would get mad at the other drivers. she would yell at them for their mistakes, or simply get angry if one is on their phone. but this morning, she felt extremely tired and sleepy— making her not want to particularly yell or get angry at anyone.
her eyes started to slowly close. she was drifting away into falling asleep. as soon as she opened her eyes, she immediately stopped the car and her head fell into the steering cell in front of her. she gripped onto it tightly, embarrassed of the fact that she had almost run someone over, and now she had to face that person.
she slowly lifted her face off of the wheel and was shocked as soon as she met the other's eyes.
"y-yerim?" she started mumbling.
as soon as she realized that it was truly yerim that she had just almost hit, she immediately felt implied to get out of her car and say sorry to the latter.
"yerim-ah, i'm so sorry. i'm so tired and weak—i'm so sorry." sooyoung practically begged to the latter.
yerim was in shock as well, just like she had been the day before- when sooyoung saved her. "it's okay, s-sooyoung unnie." she said with a smile painted across her face.
"no. here, i'll give you a ride to school. i'll treat you to a whole meal if that's what you want. anything you want, i can do it."
"leave me alone."
sooyoung was taken aback by the girl's response. but she payed no attention to it as she helped yerim get into her car's passenger seat.
"so... what school do you go to?" sooyoung asked the younger girl, hoping for a half-decent answer.
"sm university!" yerim replied as she looked out the window in astonishment.
"ah, we go to the same school. what's your major?"
yerim carefully took a look at sooyoung, then finally uttered the words, "i'm taking nursing."
"that's so cool! i think the nursing building is over here." sooyoung said as she changed her normal driving routine to fit the girl's needs. she pulled into the building and parked where yerim could easily get off and go to class. "here's the nursing building," sooyoung said with a smile as she faced yerim. "when does your class end? i'll pick you up after your class. let's meet here. exactly here." she clarified.
"it ends in three hours," yerim intently said as she nodded and made her way out of the car and into the nursing building, where her class was about to start.
now that yerim was out of her car, sooyoung felt empty. she felt like she wanted to know the latter more than just picking her up and dropping her off. she had also felt bad for forgetting about yerim so easily. after all, her class wasn't going to start for another hour. she had plenty of time to relax and sit in the nursing building to see if yerim would come out for any breaks.
