Slowly my eyes opened, I looked around for a moment before slowly sitting up and taking in my surroundings. I definitely wasn't in town, in fact, I was far from it, I was surrounded by large trees and a dense forest floor. Before I could get to my feet, I felt the top of her head was slightly warmer than the rest of my body, my fingers grazed the warm spot and drew back blood. A small sigh escaped my lips and I slowly stood up, carefully I began listening in to my surroundings, closing my eyes as I did so. I was in a calmer state now allowing me to focus on my senses, a moment passed and I froze, my eyes fixed on the shadows directly ahead of her.
"Aren't you going to come out?" I spoke softly, and calmly trying to cover up the raging wolf that was just itching to take over. A figure emerged from the shadows I could tell immediately that he was scared, very scared, which he should be. "I was sent instead of my pack mates as an attempt to calm you down. In a way, I guess" he said in a quiet voice he then began explaining many other things but unfortunately, my mind began to wonder, I hadn't heard what he'd said until he interrupted her train of thought by saying my name. "What?" I blurted out and stared back at him. "You know you've been talking for an awfully long time but, I'm not hearing what I'm wanting to. Why did you bring me here and why was I attacked?" I looked directly at the male, his eyes shot to the ground and he let out a sigh. "Koda you need to come with me." I looked at him blankly trying to figure out if he was joking or not, eventually I came to the conclusion that he was entirely serious.
"I'm sorry but that's not going to happen." the wolf inside of me began banging on the cage I kept her trapped in, snarling and barring her teeth trying to break free. I only took a deep breath and muttered: "Not yet" under my breath. Moments passed without an answer back from the male, he only stood completely still as if he was waiting for something. My head jerked to the side just as something came out from the brush hurling at her, she lifted her forearm just in time to shield her face, I screamed out in pain as a strong pair of large jaws closed tightly around my forearm, I could feel my bones crush and the warm scent of blood filled the air. I twisted my body and pried the teeth from my arm, as soon as I did so blood began to run like a stream down my arm. I held my arm tightly in an attempt to slow the flow, my eyes met my attackers. I could feel my skin beginning to boil, at that moment I knew I couldn't hold her back any longer, I let out a large huff in a matter of seconds my body was no longer human, but a wolf.
My eyes flicked to the large mass, which she identified as another wolf, my eyes then rested on the man who was still standing still as a statue. Lycanthropes were not like any ordinary wolf, they were much larger, humans had mistaken them with bears.
I exhaled deeply, my breath becoming vapor as it left my lips. The long pause went on for what seemed like forever before a voice boomed in my head, my head snapped to the wolf, he was talking to me through the physic link all wolfs had: "You shouldn't be here." I let out a low growl as my eyes locked onto his. "You know I've been hearing that a lot lately with no explanation." I snapped her vibrant green eyes flicking quickly from the wolf to the man, responding to him through the link. It took me a moment before I realized who she was speaking to, this was the beta, she could tell from the way he spoke, the way he seemed to carry himself, what confused me was the fact that he appeared to be alone, which on his part was really dumb or really smart that she'd have to figure out on my own. "This territory is occupied. I'm sure you're aware with the pack law. What we do to rouge wolfs.." His voice trailed off at the end, though his body remained motionless, except for the steady rise and fall of his chest. I eyed him cautiously before speaking "I am aware" I spoke softly and allowed my eyes to trail down to her paws for a moment. Moments of silence passed before it was interrupted by a large crash just a few yards away from where the two were standing, I turned to look at the man but he was no longer there I then looked at the wolf who seemed to be just as confused as I was, my large head snapped then to the forest where the noise had come from, my green orbs flicked about the area for a moment before I caught a flash of blonde, immediately I knew what it was. I looked back to the male just in time to see a human-like figure soaring down from the treetops directly toward the male, seconds before disaster would have taken place I leaped off the ground, throwing myself at the figure I collided harshly, jaws open wide, in a second I hit the ground tumbling for a moment before I caught my footing, I looked around for a moment before seeing what, or who, I had attacked. She stood almost as tall as Koda in her human form, except her hair was bright blonde, almost white, and her eyes, blood red. I knew what she was almost instantly, now that I caught her eye I could smell the dead stench that was radiating off the blonde. I let out a deep growl and snapped my jaws together, keeping my eyes locked on the woman, the vampire, ahead of me.
In the midst of my concentration, I hadn't realized that the male was now standing at my side, instead of fighting with me he was standing with me. Knowing she didn't stand a chance against two wolves the blonde turned and began running at vamp speed, fortunately, wolves were just as quick or in most cases quicker than vampires.
The two wolves leaped after her, tearing up the forest floor as they ran. Koda was smaller than the male so she was slightly faster. in a matter of seconds, I was trailing the vampire, I could almost get my jaws close enough for a bite but suddenly she turned, I tried to keep my balance but the forest floor was loose and I lost my footing causing my large body to slide into a tree, splintering the trunk. I recovered quickly and began running, the male rushed past her following close behind the blonde, I caught up to the two in a matter of seconds. My eyes followed the trail the blonde was taking, a few meters ahead was a cliff drop off that lead directly to the ocean. Finally understanding what the blonde was attempting I picked up my pace, running at full speed I began lashing out in attempt to grab the blonde in my jaws, the faster she ran, the closer I got the more likely it was that I would fall into the water, there I stood no chance against the vampire, the water was cold and the tide was strong. Koda made one last attempt to catch the blonde before she jumped over the side and disappeared into the freezing water below.
The wolf's lingered for a moment before turning from the cliff and disappearing back into the trees. There was only one thing that werewolves were created for, to hunt and to kill vampires. I turned my large head to the male who had begun to turn and stand directly in her path. "This does not mean that you are welcome here." He said calmly his massive head turning away from me to look at the quiet forest behind him, he turned back my awaiting a response. "I didn't think so." I huffed and turned to begin the long walk back to the town. "Koda there's much more at hand here, you need to understand the circumstances." I turned slightly and blinked in response before turning, bounding up a small rocky hill and disappearing into the brush.
It took almost an hour for me to reach the town's edge, the real battle was about to begin. When a wolf shifts there's no way of keeping the human's clothes intact unless they get removed beforehand. I waited until my apartment complex was in sight before shifting back to my fragile, naked human body, I held her breasts as I ran across the empty street and directly to the alleyway behind the complex, luckily I lived on the second story, which for me was extremely easy to get to, I climbed only for a moment before leaping up and grabbing hold of the window just outside of her bedroom, with ease I slid it open and climbed inside shutting the window tightly behind me. She looked around and exhaled before grabbing a change of clothes, even though the weather was cold outside I grabbed a pair of shorts and a tank top.
After slipping on the items of clothing she climbed into bed, pausing for a moment to whistle, a few seconds passed before thumping and the quick clicking of paws could be heard against the wooden floor. A large bluetick coonhound came barreling around the corner and jumped directly up onto the bed. "Hey buddy." I spoke softly with a gentle smile on my lips. Not many things in the world could make Koda smile but Ryker was one, one only male in her life. After greeting each other the two got comfortable and fell quickly asleep. Tomorrow she would decide what her future will look like.
