My eyes lingered on him for a moment, I gulped down a heavy swallow finally my eyes locked with his. At this point, I couldn't help it. I found myself drifting across the wooden floor toward Brax but moments before I could welcome his embrace I stopped, the beast inside him hissed, my wolf growled in return.  I looked up at Braxton and sighed lightly, "I guess he's not very happy." I mumbled quietly.

Braxton wasn't a full bred werewolf, he was something we called a hybrid. He was an ancient species, there are very few left. Brax does have a wolf, but his dominant being was, in fact, a dragon.

Brax looked down at me, his eyes shining as he finally lifted me off the floor and into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist. Our warm bodies collided with a wave of emotions and feelings causing a deep sigh of relief to escape my lips. My face rested in the crook of his neck. We stood like this long enough for my brother to interrupt with the clear of his throat.

My eyes opened and I slid down Brax's body, my feet hitting the floor silently. I looked back and smiled sarcastically. I looked back to Braxton and examined his healing wounds, they were cut from claws or knives. "Who did this?" I asked softly my eyes meeting his once again. He shook his head, snapping out of his trance. I examined his tattoo that was showing brightly on his left beck, a blue and black dragon. This was his mark, the mark of a dragon, the mark of his species. "A few wolves jumped me, they mentioned you Koda babe. That's why I came." I sighed lightly and bit my lip, I walked calmly to the table and sat down thinking. I wasn't sure how to tell them or even if I should, I knew they would both try to convince me to come home with them.

"I uh, had a run in with the same wolves," I muttered thinking back. "They all just kept telling me I shouldn't be here, then I had a run in with the Beta, we chased down a vamp...." I paused and looked up at the two. "No one would tell me why they didn't want me here." I stood up and sighed, not knowing what do to or where to go at this point. "Koda where are you going?" I heard Brax call to me as I walked into my bedroom Ryker happened to be following at my heels, peeling from his spot in the kitchen where he sat quietly. I closed the door behind Ryker, walking immediately to my dresser I peeled the shirt I had put on the previous night. Before I could get another on, Brax opened the door, I felt my face flush and I covered my body. "I know you know how to knock," I said quietly and turned and began putting on the shirt, his eyes were locked on my body up until the very last of my tan skin was no longer exposed. I turned and halted seeing him gazing with his mouth slightly open. "I missed you, Koda." He said quietly his eyes gazing into my own.

I looked down and shook my head, "I don't want to go back, Brax. You know what they did to me." I heard the door close and he walked further inside he sat at the end of my bed, I quickly slid on a pair of jeans and moved to sit next to him. "I can protect you now Koda, just come back to me. Come home." He said in a quiet longing voice, I looked into his eyes. I could tell he was sad, and he had been for a long time. "Brax.." I said softly, but before I could continue my sentence a rock was hurled through my window. "Who the fuck is crazy enough to something like that in daylight!?" I growled as I rushed toward the window, looking down helplessly for the person that had broken my window, but the vandalist was long gone by now. I sighed out a deep breath and shook my head my blood began to boil and my breaths quickened, next thing I knew I had put my fist through the window. I starred for a moment as the glass cut the deep into the soft flesh of my hand, hot red blood began running down my hand and then my wrist.

I took a step back and slowly pulled my hand from the window, glass fell to the floor and I turned to Braxton who stood with wide confused eyes. "What was that all about?" He asked in a concerned voice. "I don't know.. its been happening a lot lately. I just can't control my temper." I spoke softly.  He knew what that might mean, I knew too, but I refused to accept it. Let alone contemplate it.  With one last glance toward Brax, I turned and left the room.
