It had already been a few hours when we pulled into the 5-mile long driveway that lead to the pack house, a ways back I had pulled over and began to follow the boys being I didn't want the attention, but as I thought more it was going to be inevitable.
It took a little while before the large castle-like house came into view, a small sigh escaped my lips and my expression became hard, my blood began to boil. I knew I was going to have to face my parents, all the while resisting the urge to rip both of their heads from their shoulders. I wasn't sure how they were going to react to my return. I was slightly excited to see. I followed their car and parked alongside them, leaving Ryker momentarily, just in case shit went sideways, I didn't want him involved. I got out of the car, moments after the boys had together we approached the house. Braxtons hand trailed to my lower back, calming the tense nerves. The three of us walked through the doors, the sents of many wolves filled my nose, relief washed over me and confidence replaced the timid position I had been in.
In reality, I was next in line to take over when my parents died. I didn't want the alpha position, I had always thought if the time came I would pass the position to my brother. He would be a better alpha then I would be, none the less, I had alpha blood in my veins. Among something else that I had yet to discover.
Voices could be heard coming from almost every room in the house, as I looked about I had realized that almost nothing had moved, everything was just as it was when I left. My body froze in its tracks as a familiar scent filled my nose, my hands clenched into fists and I bit back a snarl, my bother kept walking, only to stop a few paces ahead. Braxton looked at me, his had still supported my lower back, I wanted to claw my own eyes out, the anger was unbearable.
"Braxton please take your hand off of me," I said my voice shaking slightly. I turned, he stood in the hallway a few paces away, I could see his bastard of a smirk which made my blood boil. It was him, Derek, he was the reason I had nightmares, he and my parents had put me through torture, and he among other wolves had tried to rape me. Thankfully they underestimated me greatly and I managed to kill most of them. He among two others had escaped my blood bath. This detail I had kept from Braxton. I knew he would've hunted down every single one of them and killed them, but that would result in him being removed from the pack, which I wouldn't allow.
My chest heaved in anger, Braxton looked very confused and said my name more than once, but at the time it just sounded like muffles in my ear. Just before I was about to lunge and rip the head from his shoulders, Braxton wrapped his large arms around me, immobilizing me. "Braxton! Put me down now!" I yelled, I thrashed but I didn't want to hurt him, I knew he wouldn't let me go no matter what. I stopped just before I was about to scream again, I understood then why he stepped in when he did. The alphas came rushing through the door, my mother and father became pale in the face as their eyes found my own. Braxton then put me down, my eyes never left theirs. Every single urge, even my wolf wanted to rip them limb from limb, but I held myself back. "Hello Dad, Mom." I spat out before my expression changed to disgust and I turned away before they could say anything to me. I left the hallway, leaving my brother, Braxton and my parents. I looked briefly for Derek, but I knew he was long gone by now. That bastard better be scared shitless. I was home, and shit was about to change.
I walked up to my old room, which was left untouched, everything was unmoved, though my bed smelled like Braxton. He must've slept here when I left, the thought warmed my heart. Maybe he did miss me as much as I missed him. I took a moment to look about my room, as I moved about I was careful and quiet, I wasn't sure how the rest of the pack would react to my returning, although the most of them must've already caught my scent.
I turned hearing Braxton just down the hall, I wasn't sure what to do so I stood and waited. Moments later he opened the door and walked in, closing it behind him. "Hey." He said softly and approached me. I watched as his muscled rippled and moved under the thin fabric. "Hey.." I responded after a moment, he was standing just in front of me now, "Do you want to tell me what was going on in the hallway with you and Derek?" He asked, his eyes looking into my own. "Not particularly," I responded bluntly looking down at my feet, I wanted to tell him so badly, I hated the fact that I was keeping things from him but it was for the best. I needed to handle this on my own. He looked at me for a moment before nodding, kissing my head and walking out of the room. I bit my lip and winced hearing the door click back shut behind him. He walked down the hall and into his room, closing the door behind him. It felt so wrong to be so close to him and not be touching, I knew he would come to me when he was ready. I left my room, walking down the hall and directly out to my car, ignoring the few people that I had passed. I wasn't in a social mood at the moment. I grabbed my bag and Ryker and went back inside, immediately to my room and closed the door. I kicked my boots off and removed the leash from Ryker's collar, allowing him to sniff about my room. In a matter of seconds, I had stipped down to just a t-shirt and undergarments disappeared under the sheets of my bed. I needed my rest, the next day was going to be very eventful.
I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, I tossed and turned, but I couldn't sleep. With a sigh I finally stood up and walked out of the room, Ryker followed closely behind me. I walked to Braxtons door and knocked softly before walking in, closing the door behind Ryker. Braxton was lying in bed, his lamp was still on but he was asleep, sprawled out, a smile spread across my lips and I crawled into bed with him, causing him to sleepily wake up. "Hey, you." He said in his cute sleepy voice and rolled over, making more room for me. "I couldn't sleep," I whispered quietly as I cuddled up to his large tanned body. "There's always room for you in my bed." He said softly and wrapped his arms around me. "Goodnight Braxton." I whispered happily and closed my eyes, allowing my body to relax against his, taking his sent in. "Goodnight Koda." He whispered back and gently kissed my head.
It wasn't long before we were both soundly asleep. But even Braxton couldn't keep my nightmares away.
