The first few weeks of school flew by. I hung out with Luke a little, but I still haven't figured out much about him. I mostly just stayed to myself lately. Something didn't feel right. It was now late October, so it was pretty cold. I loved it. The brown and orange leaves. The crisp air. The pumpkin aroma that filled my room. I loved everything about it. Sometimes I would put my headphones in and a sweater on and lay under the trees before dusk and just look at the sky and fall asleep. I had time to do that because my mom is always on business trips and I'm mostly alone. But it was a good alone. But, I couldn't be alone to long or else my 'being alone' turns to plain lonley ness. I grabbed my keys and jumped in my car. It was only a 8 minute drive to there so it didn't take long. When I parked I saw her sitting at a booth with her head in her hands. What did she have to tell me?

I sat across from her as she looked at me with puffy eyes.

"Oh my, Laur are you okay?" I said in dismay.

"No, not really, look I have to tell you something." she said letting out a small sob.

I pressed my lips to a thin line and slowly nodded.

"Look I've been holding this on till last minute but here I go." Tears threatening to spill "My dad got a job down in London and so we are moving and I'm leaving."

I just sat there with my lips partly open, stunned by the news.

"W-when are you leaving"

"Tonight" short and simple she said. But it wasn't simple it was twisted. My only best friend is leaving me. Forever.

"C-can I stop by tonight. Wish you good bye."

"No. I just couldn't do it. Please don't say bye. Its just a see you later, as in all see you later in life." she said as we both stood up to bear hug each other. We both let out soft sobs into each others hair.

"See you later laurasour"

"See you later izzy bizzy"

She looked me in the eyes, both puffy and glossed over. She gave me on last hug before she pulled away and walked out the door. And that was it. Gone like that. I ran to my car and let out a soft sob. I drove to the only place I could think. Luke's house. I knew where his spare key was so I unlocked the door and walked in. He was watching tv before he turned around and saw me.

"Oh Lizzy are you okay?" he said, running over to me pulling me into a hug. I shook my head no and buried my face into his chest and cried. A lot. He brought me to the couch and sat me down. He eventually calmed me down.

"Hey, pretty girls shouldn't cry" he said, wiping my cheeks with his thumbs. "What the matter?"

I sniffled my nose "Laura is leaving. Tonight. She was my best friend and she's leaving. Just like that!" I said, my lip quivering.

"Awe I'm so sorry. But hey I'm still here and always will be."

He laid me down on his bed because I was getting sleeping from crying so much. I end up just drifting of to sleep as he hummed me a song. I was to tired to focus on what he was humming but it soothed me and I fell into a deep sleep.
