From my apartment to the sushi place is a 20-minute drive. I live in Koreatown in LA, the sushi place is in Downtown LA. By now, it's like 4 am, people are heading to work and all the car lights are just beaming, which gave me a slight headache. As the stoplight turned red I looked inside the cars around me. I wonder what they're going through? The man on my right could be on a mission to get his ex-wife back, the lady on my left could save a life. There could be teenagers literally running away from their family starting their own life in LA. Me though? I'm a struggling 18-year-old attending UCLA, sulking over an ex-boyfriend.
I slammed my head on the steering wheel. "I'm so fucked". "Slow Dancing in the Dark" played faintly in the background while I drove past Snow Monster and remember Luca, Robyn, Kendrick, and I would just chill in there and spend hours talking and drinking boba. Making fun of Robyn because she never liked eating the tapioca at the bottom and shooting it at each other. It's crazy how so much can change within one year. I miss it. "On My Way" by PRETTYMUCH was now playing. Everything was so serene. With the mixture of music, the artificial city lights in the dark, I felt at ease.
