I sat there for a minute. Back to where I was before Edwin and I talked. Staring at the signs. The restaurant played "CPR" by Summer Walker. "Caught me at the right time baby oh, I was at the edge, I was at the end". My heart did a thing right there, it felt so light, like there wasn't any weight on my chest anymore. How ironic is that. Edwin really just came through, he did come at the right time. he made me forget everything for 3 hours. Like there wasn't anyone else in this world except for us. After the song was over, I finally left and got in the car. The sun was about to rise soon, traffic doesn't start until 7, why don't I just watch the sun rise at the Santa Monica pier. I drove about 20 minutes to Santa Monica and walked down there to the end of the pier. It was quiet and all you could hear was the waves crashing into each other. One after another. Footsteps were approaching me, the creaks from the wood became louder and louder. Suddenly I froze and felt hands touch my shoulders. When I turned around, it was Edwin. He turned me around and pulled me into a close hug I just got lost into his eyes.
"Hi Solana"
"H-hi" I stuttered after realizing that I dozed off
"What are you doing here?"
"Excuse me? What are you doing here, also what are you doing?"
"I asked first"
"Fine," I rolled my eyes, he let out a chuckle, "I just wanted to catch the sunrise. Now. What are you doing here and why are you still hugging me", even though LOWKEY I didn't want him to let go of me.
He let go though, backing up looking hella embarrassed.
"I uH," *clears throat* "I wanted to see it too. I took an Uber down here but before I went up here I was down at the beach. You're a fan, you should know I love anything involved with nature. I love watching some animals come up for air in the water. The scent and sounds of the beach. Except when it smells like shit or whatever"
"that's cute,well, now that we're here. Let's just watch it together"
"Sure" he said with a huge grin.
We walked around to find a bench to sit. He grabbed my hand and led me to one closest to the end of the pier. His hands were soft and his fingers intertwined with mine, he had like a million rings on so they felt hella cold. I looked up at him and he just smiled.
"Relax girl, I've gotchu" squeezing my hand for more reassurance.
PLEASE. He makes me so happy and I just met him.
When we sat down he twirled me into a hug and pulled me close while the back of my head laid on his chest. He had his arms at my waist, his head rested on my shoulders, and just kept holding on to my hands.
"I just want you to know. I just love the energy you give off. It's like your aura just matches mine so well"
"Well how would you know? We just met"
"Trust me. I believe that when people first meet, connections truly do matter"
"So what's that supposed to mean for us?"
"I haven't figured that out yet, why don't we just enjoy everything while we're young, and present"
"You're literally so gross"
he let go of me and gave me a little push, causing me to fall on to the bench.
"Shut up *WHEEZE* that's what you get for being mean" he said laughing.
"But that was mean" I pouted getting all teary eyed to make him feel bad, which eventually turned into actual tears. I honestly don't know why. It could be because of overwhelming emotions or I'm a dramatic bitch. Could be both.
"WAIT. No no no no no no, don't cry baby, wait I didn't mean to say that, ignore that completely, but don't cry I was just joking around" my head was rested on his palms while he wiped away my tears with his thumbs.
"I don't know why I'm crying to be honest. I truly just think it's because I'm just overwhelmed or something"
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"No I'm good...  baby HAHAHAHAHA"
"SHUT UP"
"I'm sorry"
"Shut up"
"Ok den"
I tried laying on him and he pushed me off.
"Hey" I said with a tiny baby voice.
"No" he said with his baby voice. He then grabbed my head, put it on top of his chest, wrapped his arms around me then kissed my cheek.
"You happy?"
"Yes"
"Good".
The sky transitioned from midnight blue to peach and the sun a bright orange. All I could hear was the waves and his heart beat. My eyes began to flutter and without even realizing it, I fell asleep.

-30 minutes later...

"Solana wake up"
my eyes felt heavy and I look up to see Edwin starring down at me.
"Hello?"
"You fell asleep, we're still at the beach, people are coming in"
"Were you just watching me sleep?"
"No. Yes. Maybe. I don't know who cares anyways" he began to blush and tried to hide behind my puffer jacket.
"uGh, one more minute it feels nice outside"
"Cmon lets go"
He picked me and swaddled me like a baby.
"Where's your car?"
"At the parking lot at the top level"
"So you're telling me I have to carry you all the way to your car?"
"Yes"
"You're lucky that I'm a gentleman"
"Shut up and just carry me".
I fell asleep again until I woke up when we finally got to the car.
"We're hereeeeee"
"I don't want to drive home I'm tiwed"
"Who else is gonna drive you home then?"
I smiled really wide trying to insinuate I want him to drive. Bad idea since I just met him but I have a level of trust with him.
"Ah fucks no"
"Pleaseeeee"
"I'm gonna Uber back home, cmon Solana just wake up n drive. Besides, like you said earlier, we just met"
"Some points were made"
"Exactly"
"But what if I fall asleep on the roadddd"
"Quit being dramatic, I'll go buy us coffee"
"Thank youuuuu".
Ok so I felt kind of bold and kissed him on the cheek then waited in the car while he went down to the Starbucks. To be honest, I think this night has progressed so fast. I don't even know how I even got myself in this situation truly. All I gotta do is thank myself for it because I'm so unbelievably happy. Edwin and I have this connection I've never had with anyone before and I've never ever felt this comfortable around anyone before. I love myself and I love where I am right now. I don't know if Edwin and I will continue something, but I hope we do.
