After what felt like forever. I arrived at the sushi place. The bright obnoxious colored ads of sushi and the neon "OPEN 24 HOURS" light made me feel a bit nostalgic from previous nights I've spent here. When I walked in, there was one other guy in the restaurant at the "bar" seating area on his cell phone with AirPods in. He had on custom Gucci AF1's, graphic black and white pants, a bunch of chains and the same shirt as me. I smirked a little on how coincidental it was. Both his arms were covered with a half sleeve, his eyebrows were thick and perfectly shaped, his curls were dark and defined. Really hot to be fucking honest. I felt a little adventurous in the moment and decided to sit next him but with a seat in between us. He looked up at his phone and smiled. I smiled back and went on my phone before the waiter came. The waiter asked for what he wanted first and he ordered Nigiri and Royal Black Milk tea. It's obvious he has taste. I ordered a California roll and Taro milk tea with mini boba. After, I just stared at the ads for a good minute.

"Whatchu looking at?"

I felt my cheeks turn hot from the embarrassment that he noticed me dozing off.

"Uh, I-"

"Don't worry about it, I just wanted to tease you" he said with a giggle. I got a better look at him. His face seemed so familiar I just couldn't figure out who he was.

"I mean, I guess, I was just admiring all the colors in the ad. I just love how the colors kind of come together in a way"

" I like the way you think. I was doing the same thing earlier. I over analyze a lot. I just think there's a deeper meaning to everything. You know?"

I smirked,

"I feel the same way. I'm Solana by the way"

"I'm Edwin"

My heart fluttered. Am I really at this restaurant talking to Edwin Honoret? We stared into each other's eyes for a good 30 seconds.

"You don't like my name or something?"

"Oh no uH you have such a cute name, I just-"

"I'm just teasing you again haha"

I blushed and smiled so hard trying to contain my excitement.

"I like your fit tho. I see you copied me"

"Copied you? Sir, I just met you. How would I even know you wore the same shirt as me"

"You right. I guess great minds got great style. Or is that how the saying goes or am I just too sleep deprived to know"

"Too many questions in one sentence. Its 4 am Edwin. I don't think we're working properly right now"

"Haha, you're not wrong. I mean, other than us, who goes to a sushi restaurant this early in the morning?"

"I didn't ask to be attacked like this"

"That's just how life goes ya heaRdddD"

"I just cringed so hard"

"I'm sorry sometimes I just,"

"You don't have to apologize. I'm just teasing you"

"I see what you did there. Anyways, why are you here right now?"

"I don't know. Why are you?"

"Hey I asked first"

"Ugh fine. But can I really trust a stranger?" I lied through my teeth. Acting like I don't know the person he shows off on social media. Like I'm not a complete fangirl. He wasn't a stranger to me. But I was to him.

"You only live once. I don't see the problem" he gave me a reassuring smile.

*sigh* "ok, so. I had a full on panic attack over my ex. It's been 6 months since we've broken up. I still just can't get him off my mind. One day I'll be happy and forget about him. Most days. I end up here. Sitting here. Getting sushi. To cope"

"Well. I'm glad that your situation has brought you here. Not like I mean, your situation is unfortunate and I'm sorry about it. Wait my minds just spitting words out. I think you know what you mean"

"Yeah, I feel. Now. You tell me what brought you here?"

"I just had another sleepless night. Most of the time I just end up here. Overthinking a lil too much. Just thought some sushi could help a lil"

"What were you thinking about?"

"I was just-"

Edwin was cut off by the waiter who brought us our drinks and boba. When the waiter left, Edwin got back to what he was gonna say.

"You'll find out, maybe. Soon, or never. Depends if we start a friendship" he said as he stuffed the nigiri into his mouth.

"Cmon that's not fair" I pouted.

"That's just how it goes. I convinced you because of peer pressure. But I'm a lil smart. So I know not to share something with strangers"

"Some points have been made"

We ate our food and continued with our witty conversations. I tried so hard to mention anything about PRETTYMUCH because when I'm not emo, the only other thing I talk about is them. I didn't want to rub off as a fangirl and scare him away like that.

   We both finished our food and just sat there talking for a little longer.

"HmmZ-kUh"

"Edwin are you okay?!"

"Yeah I just choked on the tapioca"

"HAHAHAHAHAHHAHa"

"Damn don't do me like that"

"It was cute don't worry"

"So you think I'm cute?"

"I didn't say that but believe what you want"

"You didn't deny it"

"Whatever" I rolled my eyes

"Anyways, I had fun talking to you tonight"

"Me too," I said trying to hold back my smile

"Maybe, wanna do this again sometime?"

I felt myself get hot again

"I'm so down"

"Aye aye let's trade phones and put in our contact info?"

I nodded. We traded and he burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, juST that I'm your background"

Oh fuck.

"I can explain"

"Don't have to. You should've mentioned you were a fan. I don't mind"

"I didn't want to freak you out thinking I was a big ass fangirl and have a different impression of me. I'm sorry"

"You have nothing to be sorry about Solana. I truly don't mind. Can we actually link though? I had a really good time talking to you"

"I'm so down"

"Great. My Uber's here. Thanks for making m my night. Or morning. Or whatever you know"

"Yeah you too"
