I got up, looking around, many others doing the same. All confused, helpless, scared. I stuck with Roxy for a while; we didn't talk to anyone else. Then I counted. 16 students. Why 16? That's about half a normal class.

"One, Two! Mic check!" An annoying voice called out on the speakers around us. They were dotted around the gym, so everyone had to listen.
"Welcome to Hope's Peak Academy! I am your principal!"
"Show yourself then!" Someone piped up.
"Fine! Since you asked nicely..."
There was a lone lecture on the stage in front of us and a spotlight casting down on it. And then, like magic...

A small bear jumped out from behind the lecture, his left side white, like a teddy; his right side was twisted. Black as the night, with a red insignia of the academy as an eye and an evil, demonic smile.

"Howdy."

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" We all were screaming. This is our principal!? No way! This has got to be a prank! Some of us started making their way to the door, Roxy included.

"Nyeh!"
"What is that thing?"
"NOPE, NOPE, NOPE!"
Roxy barged past them all, screaming and fearing for her life.
"This is Voodoo Voodoo magic! Ghosts!"

Oh my god...
Wait, what!? I saw a tall ginger haired girl climb up onto the stage the bear was on. She grabbed the teddy by the throat. "Let me go!" A beeping sound echoed through the room, causing everyone to stop. We all thought it was a joke but-

"THROW IT!" Someone cried out.
"Huh?" The girl asked.
"Just throw it!"
The girl threw the bear up onto the air, the beeps quickening. And before our eyes-

BOOM!
"Is he dead?"
"Look!"
The girl ran off the stage, terrified of what was behind the lecture. The same bear.

"So we didn't really introduce ourselves. I'm...

"Monokuma."
