Those words cut through me like a knife. Killing game. We will die.
WE WILL DIE.
That thought stuck with me for a long time. All of us will- Wait a second!
"Will we all die?" I shouted out, breaking the perfect silence. "You said we will die, you never said how many will die though!"
He jumped off the stage and walked over to me. He took the tablet off me and showed me the rules.
Nighttime is at 10 pm. Some places will be locked then.
Violence without intent to kill will be punished.
A maximum of 2 victims allowed per blackened.
If in the event of 2 murderers, the first one will be classed as the blackened.
Monokuma cannot directly help with the murder.
The killing game will go on until there is 1 blackened or 2 spotless.
Monokuma can add rules whenever he wants.
Always have your Monopad on you.
If a student dies, there is only the rest of the day to mourn.
Monokuma is the principal, do not disobey him.
"Oh. 1 blackened or 2 spotless." I paused. "What?"
What's a blackened?
What's a spotless?
What is going on?
"The blackened mentioned is the culprit of the case. The culprit is the last person to deal with damage to the victim. So... If Plain Jane over here," He pointed to me, smiling. "Attacked me, then Goldilocks over there," He said, pointing to Roxy. "If she attacked me afterwards, then I died, Goldie would be the blackened and will be fighting to survive."
Fighting to survive?
"When one-third one you find a body, a body discovery announcement (or BDA) will play throughout the school on these handy dandy monitors! These big black and white screens will alert you, tell you where the corpse is and start the investigation! The truth bullet menu will unlock then. You will have time to investigate, then the class trial will begin!"
"A class trial?" Roxy piped up, looking down at the small, lecturing bear.
"A class trial! A test of wits, strategy and being able to find a killer. When you find out who the killer is, lock in your votes and see if you got it right! If so, only the blackened gets punished whilst the rest of you get to live out your lives here! But if you pick the wrong person, I'll punish everyone besides the blackened and that person will graduate from this academy!"
One question lingered in my mind still. The punishment. Jail? Detention? What could it be? Before I could answer though-
"What's the punishment!?" Roxy called out.
"Puhuhuhu!" The bear started uncontrollable laughter. "Puhuhuhuhuhu!"
"Huh?"
"Another word for punishment could be...
EXECUTION."
