After talking with everyone, I left the gym. The hallway was more detailed than I imagined. Well, I didn't really have time to look, considering my chase sequence earlier. It was a normal corridor you'd find in a school. A bulletin board next to me had pieces of paper on it, many saying about the different rooms in this school. One said about a kitchen and dining room with enough food to last forever. Another said about "the great outdoors". What? Outside!? I followed a map on the other side of the paper to find a grand set of double doors.
Here goes nothing.
I pushed open the grand oak doors to find...
An enormous cage surrounding the school and the land around it. Looking at it, the structure was iron, everything else was glass, so we could see the sunlight peeking through. Around me, I saw many buildings. One of them stood out to me. A rectangular building with the door nearer to the left of the front. I took the cobblestone path to this building. It was light blue, with windows dotted around. A sign above the door read: "Dormitories" These are the dorms, I guess. I walked in and looked around. The vibe was like a hotel. A simple, clean, white room with sofas dotted around the lobby. I went up to the reception desk, looking at the huge tablet screen, like the ones in burger joints. When I walked up to it, the screen booted up and showed a "Welcome" message. It then changed to a page full of 8 bit avatars of us. They were on a 4 by 4 grid, each with our names under them. I pressed my avatar (complete with ahoge) and it came up with a map of the building. A red line flowed to the right and straight ahead. I walked away, towards the room. First, a right and then straight ahead. To my left, I saw rooms belonging to Katherine, Orokana, Kashikoi, Clara and then Roxy. To my right, India, May-lin, River, Hailey and then Tiddles. Mine was right in the centre, past all the others.
My door had my avatar on it with a plate underneath reading "Bellatrix". I walked in.
It was like a hotel room in every way. A small room of to the side with toilet, sink and shower. In the main part; a double bed with sheets and covers on it already, a bedside table with a lamp, a TV and a wardrobe. I tried turning on the TV to watch some anime, but it wouldn't even turn on. I turned my attention to the wardrobe next. I swung open the door to find dozens of purple short-sleeved t-shirts, yellow skirts, black leggings and underwear. My outfit. There were also sets of pyjamas. Guess he really wants us to stay here. Damn bear.
Before I got too annoyed, I jumped onto the bed and sighed. Wait a second! I got up, wobbling as I stood on the mattress. And I jumped. I jumped a lot, small jumps, big jumps, jumps when I almost hit the ceiling. I felt calmer, more relaxed.
DING!
"Uh, it's open, I guess..."
When the door opened, Roxy rushed in and dragged me away from my makeshift trampoline.
"R-Roxy!?" I cried out, barely being able to keep up with her.
"You will not believe this! This is of epic proportions!" She shouted back, running back through the corridors, passing a few people.
"Don't run into that wall!"
"What wa-"
And, yes, Roxy had crashed into a wall whilst dragging her friend around. Wow. Luckily, she crashed right next to a set of doors that were slightly open revealing a long table with 16 chairs, a small hatch that showed a restaurant style kitchen and a door that went to the said kitchen. I went in only to smell cookies.
"Oh, Bellatrix and Roxy! How nice of you to join me in baking!" River peeked out of the hatch, she got to it first.
"Ow." Roxy came in, rubbing her head. "How come I smell cookies?" She looked at the hatch and Riv. "How have you already made some cookies!?"
"Not just cookies!" She pulled out a tray of assorted pastries, cakes and pies. "They don't call me the Ultimate Baker for nothing!"
I took a lemon tart from the tray, still slightly warm. I slowly bit into it, the lemon curd flowing out, the buttery base holding everything. It was like an elite chef made these! But I knew they were made by a 14-year-old girl!
Roxy picked up a small chocolate log and bit into it. Her eyes lit up. "Woah. That was..." She stopped.
"AWESOME! WHAT DID YOU DO TO THIS? MAGIC, TECHNOLOGY, WHAT!?"
"Uh... I just baked some food."
"EVERYONE COME HERE!" Roxy ran off, probably to get everyone.
I sighed as I picked up another pastry from the tray.
