With trembling hands, she steadied herself with the kitchen counter and stood up before flinging her cereal bowl at her husband. Omari knew how deadly Omuhle's anger could get and had developed quick reflexes because of this.
'When?'
Omari starred at her with hurt filled pleading eyes. He did not like seeing the hurt in her eyes and he knew that as soon as he told her the whole truth, she will be very hurt and highly dissapointed in him. He was startled from his thoughts when the loud screaming from his wife rang through his ears, repeating her question.
'Dimples it was long ag-'
'When was long ago and please do not dimples me right now.'
The young king retreated backwards when she slowly walked towards him with a steak knife in her hand.
'Babe put that knife away and I promise I will tell you everything you want to know.'
He swallowed hard when she put the knife away. She sat back down and tried to calm herself waiting on him to explain himself.
'Remember our last year in college-'
'You cheated on me in-'
'Can you let me finish. We met on the road trip we took that year with the guys. She was still in high school and underage. So nothing happened...'
Omuhle sat quietly listening, she could not believe what she was hearing but tried very hard to keep herself calm.
'Three years ago we met again during a conference of world leaders in Cape Town. She was with a group on vacation there,to cut a long story short we spent the night together. I woke up the next day regretting everything that happened that night. I left her asleep and never looked back.'
She held back her tears, she was not about to cry.
'But you hired her?'
'Yes,she came to me when I was looking for a nanny and threatened to tell you the truth if I did not give her a job. So I hired her but I swear nothing ever happened after that one time.'
Omari tried to grabbed her as she stormed out of the kitchen with steam coming out of her ears but she swerved.
'How do you do that to me?!'
She screamed at him as they stood in the centre of the kitchen. Omar began whimpering after his mother's outburst. Feeling weak from hurt, she grabbed onto the kitchen counter while Omari attempted to help her.
'Do not touch me. I have been only faithful, loving and supportive to you. I gave you everything you asked me for and what do I get in return. Nothing.'
Omari hated seeing her in tears because of his stupidity and moment of weakness. He grabbed her as she threw light punches onto his chest. She gave in when she got tired and realised he was not letting her go and just cried onto his chest.
'I am fine.'
She pushed him away grabbed her handbag.
'Where are you going?'
'Somewhere where you ain't.'
'The girls will be back in an hour-'
Omuhle grabbed her son and her handbag and walked out without another word. She just needed to get away from Omari.
