Comfort Zone (Miyabi X Reader)

Ch 4 - My Duo

Now this will not be a harem. Just putting this out there. This chapter will be about training and your permanent duo partner.

This was a smooth time adjusting to the new life. Did it feel like all of you were being toyed with? Not as much now but due to change. Everyone was trying to better themselves. You and Amber were killing some time before crashing out for the night. The sun had just set and both of you just wanted to have a talk.

"You relaxed after a shower and meal after this busy day of training?" Asked Amber.

"Well working with Tomoe about training, nutrition, and combat is doing well. Even Tor is eating vegetables. Haha."

"Yeah. And getting Julie to spare with me taught me a few things. She's the strongest out of all of us."

"I agree Amber. Though have you thought about who's going to be your partner?"

"I think Tomoe is going Julie or Miyabi. I'm lost."

"Me too. But hey, if those have a duo together you want to stay as a unit? I would love to, but it's your choice. I would never want to burden you or get in your way."

"And I would never want you to settle."

"Settle on what? You are the second best in combat against Julie. A great personality too. I mean I couldn't date you but I think we make a great team chemistry wise."

Amber stopped. "Couldn't, date me?" She said quietly confused.

"Think about it in these terms. A guy you know for a few days lives with you. Not just your duo partner but your boyfriend. Sounds like a lot of pressure. You deserve your space you know. If you want to go shopping with some girls go for it. Want to study alone I'll head somewhere. It's part of being a partner."

"(FN). We pick them tomorrow. Are you sure of this? You don't mind me up early and reading? Leaving when I change?"

"It's just part of the deal. Though if I'm sleeping no big deal right? You won't wake me?"

"No. I'm not that pose. I mean you're a guy. I get that. But we can work together on this. It's not brother and sister. It's not dating. Not sure what to call it."

"I think that my dear is partnership."

"Got it. Good words."

"Good description."

"Touche."

"Thank you."

"So tell me," Amber smirked. "Do you like any of the girls?"

"Uhhh," Your eyes gave it away but she was going to have to pry a little bit more. Okay so why is this being asked now? "Why?" Wrong answer.

"So if it's not me then who is it? The girl with the pigtails in the front of the class? Julie? Tomoe maybe since you seen so close?"

"None."

"Fine. I'll figure it out eventually. Until then I can let it slide. Though you know what that means?" She winked.

"Huh?"

"You back me up and I'll back you. Sound good?" She extended her hand.

Not much to think about. "If you say it I'll say it. You first."

She gasped in disgust. "Have me tell you who I have affection towards when I asked you to begin with? No no no. You tell me about the busty girl in your life and I tell you about the boy I have eyes on."

"I never said she was busty even though she is."

"Miyabi." She winked at you.

"Wait hold; got me." You shake her hand. "Our agreement?" You look her in the eye.

"Toora."

"Brains?"

"Part of it. But his confidence too. He seems fiery and tactical. I just like it. Is liking a smart, cute guy in glasses bad?"

"Nope."

"Tomorrow are you ready? I will say this. I'm sure we still have much to learn of each other and I presume our situations home aren't perfect. That correct?"

"Oh we got chemistry. You said it."

Fast forward to 24 hours later at the balcony of your dorm. The sun still out as the clocktower was going off for 5 PM. This was it. Becoming official. Just worrying about the two of you growing together as a unit with friends along the way.

"Ready?"

"Yup."

You two clash weapons carefully. "We two shall remain bond together always. And do everything as a duo to the best of our abilities. In joy and sorrow. In sickness and in health. Until death do us part." A soft class and an exhale.

"Welcome Amber." You put your blaze away and give her a hug. "Know let's kick ass and have a bet on who makes the first move."

"If you do the first move I have to ask him. Same thing with you. If I go first you're asking out that doll. Clear?"

"Crystal."

"Good. Very good. By the way I forgot to ask you partner? What's the reason why you like Miyabi."

"Kinda cliche but she's cute. I find her precious and adorable. Someone I want to know more about and cuddle with someday. You know?"

"Well I'd like to study and motivate my handsome devil. So I get it."

"Smooth. Thoigh guess what? We're figuring out soon. Promise."

"Wait. (FN) what are you aiming at?"

"Roleplay scenarios and prayer never hurt anybody. Yet!"

Now is one chapter where I wrote half at work and I had to type the rest home to view the scene where Julie and Tor make things official. Just to get the accuracy.

Moving forward I'm going to be going along with the canon manga route. But some in between stuff along the way.
