I felt small under the disapproving stare of my dad. Scratch that, I was invisible! What happened at the party was still a taboo topic which pushed my last buttons "Dad" I whined "What?" he asked coldly while preparing breakfast "I said I was sorry" I said "Did you mean it though?" he asked "Yes! Of course I meant it! I know I was irresponsible but can you just forgive me?" I asked "That's not how it works Lila" he said, turning to face me "Your actions have consequences. Just cause I got you out of the station doesn't mean everything is fine" he said "Okay than ground me or something" I said "Or something? Lila, I don't think you understand the weight of what happened that night" he said "I do, I promise I do. I know I was stupid, I should've just stood my ground and say no. But I learned from that, I swear" I said "No kidding" he scoffed and turned back around to check on the bacon. I rolled my eyes and jumped up from my seat "Dad" I whined, hugging him "Just ground me, it's fine, really. I mean come on, how many children have you heard saying that?" I smiled and he raised an eyebrow at me "You're going to school, Lila, if that's why you're beating around the bush" he said and I groaned "Fine, I just wanted to give you options" I said and sat back down at the table "Thanks, I'll consider it. It actually does sound good, how about straight home after school for about 2 weeks" he said "Dad, I was just kidding!" I gasped and he laughed "Eat your bacon" he said and put a plate in front of me "Okay but I'm not grounded right?" I asked "Eat" he pointed a finger at me "Okay but I'm not grounded though, right?" I asked, grabbing my fork "Kid, you're giving me a headache" he said "Okay, I'm done. Look I'm eating" I said, shoving some eggs and bacon into my mouth "Mmm, yummy" I said which made him crack up "You're way too spoiled" dad said "I agree" I said, nodding along with my words.
I finished breakfast and dad drove me to school "Wish me luck" I sighed and got out of the car and walked towards the school. Everybody's gotten pretty used to the few days off from school but every wonder lasts three days right? I kind of felt weird being back, especially with the new rules that have been implied recently. I went straight to my locker just so I could get rid of the heavy binder I was carrying. I groaned when a piece of paper fell from my locker. I rolled my eyes and shoved the binder inside before bending down to grab the paper "Boo! Did I scare you?" I mumbled confused as I read the paper. I didn't give it a second thought though, I just crumbled up the paper and tossed it in the nearby trash can. I closed the locker door and went to find my boyfriend who as expected, was leaning against his own locker with Fangs standing next to him "Hey" I smiled "Hey" Sweet Pea said as he put an arm around my shoulders, letting me snuggle up to his side "Hey, Lila" Fangs said and put on his backpack "I'll see you later man" he added and quickly left "Something wrong?" I asked "No? Why would there be?" Sweet Pea asked "Just asking" I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck "Don't you look like a pretty princess today" he said, pressing his lips to mine "Break it up, love birds" Kevin said as he walked past us "Kevin, are you serious?" I laughed "Yeah no, I actually meant it" he said, looking over his shoulder "Ew, we don't stan" I said "I didn't come up with the rules" he shrugged "Don't listen to him baby" Sweet Pea said as he cupped my cheek and kissed me again. I smiled, getting on my tip toes to reach him better "Your hair's getting long" I said "You told me that before" he said and I giggled "I'll get it fixed later" he said and put his backpack over his shoulder "Let's go" he said, kissing me one more time before he walked me to class "Catch you later" he said and I nodded. I sat down at the front of the class and got my things out "Hey" Cheryl smiled as she and Toni walked in "Good morning, Marcia Brady" Toni chuckled "Very funny" I rolled my eyes "You kind of are her, though" Toni smiled "Sure, Jan" I said and they laughed "See? I was right" she nudged me "Hey, can I see you after classes?" Kevin said as he rushed up to my desk "Yeah, of course. What's wrong?" I asked. He just smiled widely which honestly made me more suspicious "You'll see, it's a strike of genius" he said and hurried off to his first class "What was that about?" Cheryl asked "I'll tell you once I know" I shrugged.Knowing Kevin Keller, I should've figured out that when he says 'something important' it must mean "A musical!" Kevin said enthusiastically "Another one?" I asked "A better one!" he added and I groaned "It's the director in me that's to blame. And besides, if it's my true calling I can't just put it aside can I?" he grabbed my shoulders and shook me "Okay, okay" I laughed "But, are you sure it's a good idea? I mean...just think about what happened last time" I said "But this time we don't have Black Hoods" he said "No, we just have a Gargoyle King" I said "Come on" he whined "I'm just saying, you do whatever you want. If Weatherbee approves your ideas then go for it" I said "Speaking of, guess what I came up with" he grinned "I don't know, the Brady Bunch" I said of the top of my head "Good one but no" he said "Clueless?" I asked but he shook his head "Tho that one could've been a good one too. Okay I'll give you a hint. It combines 80's it girls with the creepy and psychotic scene of a troubled teenager" he said "I have nothing" I said "Heathers!" he exclaimed "Oh" I said, my tone a little off "What do you mean 'oh' ?" he frowned "Oh I meant oh, what a great idea" I laughed "You think so? Great, because you can be my assistant once again" he said "Uh, hold on a second" I said but he cut me off "Since last time you did such a great job, thought I'd give you the privilege of being head of the costumes department once again" he said "Kev-" I said "Also, you can also assist me at auditions" he said "How about I bring you coffee every morning, too" I said, crossing my arms over my chest "You'd be a gumdrop" he said and I rolled my eyes "I'll think about it" I said "Think? What's there to think about? Do you want to star in a role then?" he asked "No way, I'd rather work backstage" I said "Then it's settled. Welcome aboard" he smiled "Gee thanks" I laughed "I'll further communicate my ideas to the principal and board and I'll get back to you in a few days" he smiled "Sure" I said and grabbed my bag "See you later then" I said and he nodded "Oh but don't tell anyone yet, okay?" he said "Sure" I said and left. I went straight to the school's parking lot where Sweet Pea was waiting for me alongside some of his friends. But once he saw me coming, he quickly dismissed them "Took you long enough" he said, still leaning against his bike "Sorry" I said "What did Keller want?" he asked "He wants to do a musical and thought I'd be interested in being part of it" I said "And are you?" he asked "I mean, sure" I shrugged "Alright. Hop on, I'll get you home" he said "I'm wearing a skirt" I said "I won't peak" he smirked, his eyes dropping to my legs for a second "Stop!" I gasped "Besides, it's nothing I haven't seen before" he said "Sweet Pea!" I laughed "Get on, pretty thing" he winked.
