Amy had returned to her room once Dark's wounds had been cleansed and bandaged.

She didn't notice how tired she was until she lay flat against the bed and stared at the ceiling. It wasn't until she kicked off her shoes when she realized that she had nothing to sleep in.

Looks like I'm sleeping in my clothes... Amy thought, grimacing at the idea.

She stood back up when a knock came from the door.

"Come in."

Miriam came in carrying a small pile of clothes that looked rarely used.

"Evening." She smiled, setting them down on the dresser into 2 piles. She turned to Amy with a hand on the stack closest to her. "These are my clothes that I've either worn once or not at all. I won't miss them."

She gestured to the second lot that was much smaller. "And these are a few pajamas and nightgowns, and a robe that I thought you might like to sleep in. Again, they're barely used so you can have them."

"Thanks a lot, Miriam." Amy beamed at her. "That's really nice of you. I was dreading the thought of sleeping in my clothes."

Miriam looked her up and down. "You look as though you could drop off at any moment. Just leave your clothes outside the door before you go to bed, I'll have them clean by morning."

"Thanks, Miriam. You, Jack and P.J. have been so kind to me." Amy looked away from her. "Even after what happened tonight."

The maid placed both hands on her shoulders, making her look up again.

"Amy, the lads and I aren't upset with you. But if they are, they won't be after I've had a few words with them."

That got a laugh out of her.

"I can't speak for his grumpiness, but it was a real treat seeing someone, other than me, give him an earful. You should be proud that you stood your ground."

She smiled. "I'll remember that."

"Good. Now get yourself some rest," Miriam said, returning the smile before heading towards the door. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Picking out a light blue pajama set, Amy changed out of her clothes before pulling them on.

After leaving her old clothes outside of the bedroom door in a neat pile, she turned off the light, pulled back the covers, and climbed into bed.

A minute later, she fell fast asleep.

The morning sunbeams spilled through the curtains, caressing her face before stirring her awake.

Letting out a groan, Amy opened her eyes as the realization that all of this wasn't just a bad dream came to memory.

Sighing, she sat up, swung her legs over the bed and went over to the pile of clothes Miriam had left her, picking out a pair of cropped jeans and a dark purple sleeveless shirt.

Once she was dressed and had put away the rest of the clothes, Amy looked at herself in the mirror. A small grin formed on her face as she looked at her reflection.

I look like I came out of a 2000s time warp. She looked at the door. Now for the hard part...

Walking over to it, she placed her hand over the doorknob and peeked out into the hallway just in time to see Miriam carrying another pile of clothes.

"Morning," The maid smiled brightly at her, holding what Amy realized was her old clothes now washed and neatly folded. "Robert is busy preparing breakfast. He's eager to know if you'll like his eggs and bacon."
