[October 16, Friday Night]

Kana quietly waited for the last couple of customers to exit the cafe. When they finally left, she went and wiped the last couple tables ending her shift for the night.

After she graduated from high school, Kana decided not to attend college and help out her uncle with the boarding house and cafe. It wasn't like she was never going to college, she just needed time to think about what she wanted to do in life. What's the point in paying for expensive classes when she didn't even know what she wanted to do yet?

The cafe became quiet. Her friend already said her goodbye earlier and her uncle had went to send his brother off who had gotten drunk. He always drink when he does his erratic visits.

One day she needs to give that uncle a talk about the dangers of drinking a lot of alcohol. She's surprised that he's still alive and pumping.

Kana flipped the sign of the cafe and then locked the door. It was another successful day of business, and Kana couldn't wait to jump into bed and relax. After taking off the apron in the locker room, Kana entered the door beside the cash desk and went up the stairs.

The stairs led her to the top where a small inside balcony to the cafe was at. She continued on to the only door at the top of the space and went inside.

With the same interior style of modern and chic of the cafe downstairs, the door on the balcony took Kana to the boarding house's common room. Lying on one of the couches was a tenant, Kita Shu.

Shu was a jobless twenty-six year old. Well, that's what Kana thought since he's always sleeping the couch. There were times when she asked him what he does for a living, but he always shrug her off and goes back to snoozing. She tried asking her uncle but got declined as her uncle couldn't disclose private information about his customers. Shu was her uncle's longest tenant of eleven years.

Though Shu seemed like a bum, he was really handsome. Slick black hair, a good looking face, and a nice body, Kana was still surprised that he didn't have a girlfriend yet. It was unfortunate that all he wears are t-shirts and sweats. Kana was pretty sure he has money despite the possibility of being jobless. Not anyone can afford to live in this house!

Just as she suspected, the man was sleeping on the couch without a blanket. The young girl sighed and went to one of the closets and pulled out a blanket. This wasn't the first time Kana sees the man sleeping bare.

Right when she was about to place the blanket on Shu, a loud stomping could be heard from below the floor she was standing on scaring her.  She dropped the blanket and caused the wake of the sleeping man.

"Shu... what was that?" It was past eleven o'clock... Everyone should be asleep or in their rooms by now. All the bedrooms of the boarding houses were also on the third and fourth floors. Who in the world could be downstairs in the dining hall?

He rubbed his eyes and then pushed back his hair from his face. "Stay here, I'll go check." Shu got up and placed her in his spot, his warmth still on the spot where he laid.

Kana watched as he used the stairs instead of the elevator to go to the ground floor of the house where the kitchen and dining hall was. The stomping had already stopped when Shu woke up, but she couldn't help but worry since the noise was no more.

The elevator dinged and coming out the doors were two other tenants, Eri and Ami Anderson. The two were fraternal twins, one boy and one girl.

The siblings were the same age as her and started living here five years ago. Currently they were taking online classes and are full-time in the modeling business. Their father is an American who is a successful entrepreneur in the clothing line and left them with her uncle's hands to take care of while he and his wife do business over in the states. Every holiday their parents would come visit and sometimes the twins would be gone for a month for vacation.
