[Day 2, Room 101]
It was the next morning. Kana ended up sleeping with Ami for the night. No thumping seemed to have occurred. Ami told her that Uncle Haru told the SPR team to let her sleep and recover before questioning her what happened.
With a tray of breakfast in front of her given by her uncle, Shibuya-san and Lin-san were sitting by the bed. Lin-san had his laptop out as Shibuya-san had his notebook and pen.
"Can you tell me exactly what happened from the point you entered the elevator and when you exited it?" Shibuya-san interrogated.
Kana nodded as she quickly finished her bite of food washing it down with the glass of warm milk.
"Um, let's see..." she wringed the blanket over her. "When I entered the elevator, it seemed pretty normal. Nothing out of the ordinary happened inside. It was only after I got off. Right when I placed my foot on the ground, a loud thump was under my foot."
It was very powerful, not like the usual thumps we've been having. And after that first thump, I couldn't lift myself from the fear. Ami and Eri both came out of their rooms and helped me get up. The thumbing continued as we all went inside Ami's room. I was too shaken to the point that I just passed out."
"Was there anything else abnormal such as temperature?"
Kana thought back to last night. Since she had house slippers on, she couldn't really feel it. "I believe... the floor was really cold. It was only when I fell when I could tell the floor was freezing."
The two men gave each other a knowingly nod. "Thank you Hashimoto-san for your time," Shibuya-san said.
"No need! Just call me Kana. Uncle Haru said we're the same age. I'm just thankful for your team for taking this case."
With that, the two men exited the room as Ami and Eri entered.
"Kana, are you okay? You're not hurt right? That miko did a check up on you, but I won't believe her words until I hear from you first," Ami stated as she grabbed onto Kana's hand.
"Ami," Eri chuckled as he sat on the foot of the bed.
Kana felt her cheeks becoming warm and she hugged Ami tightly. "I'm okay. It was just really scary last night."
"Be careful! You guys almost knocked over the food tray," scolded Eri. Both girls looked to see Eri stabilizing it. "Are you done Kana? I'll just take it down now."
She nodded after apologizing, and Eri left the room with the tray.
"Did they interview you and your brother too?"
"Yeah," Ami said leaning back crossing her arms. "I know you've complained about the noises before. I'm sorry I didn't do much about it."
"It's not like it was your fault."
Ami scoffed, "Of course I know that. I just could have been there with you when it happened. It really... shaken me to see you paralyzed on the ground."
"But you came and helped me, that all that matters!" Kana happily smiled.
Ami gave her a smile too. "Just so you know, Shu is taking your shift for today. Aoi was really happy."
"Ehh! Really?! I have to see this for myself," she said getting out of bed.
[11:00 a.m., Hisakawa Cafe]
Dressed in a comfy sweater and tights, Kana and Ami made there way down to the cafe. It was busy since everyone drinks coffee in the morning.
"Hana-chan? What are you doing down here? Shouldn't you rest?" Aoi said rushing from wiping a table.
