Author's POV

After the full moon, Quentin was immediately reintroduced to the pack as the Luna and welcomed into the pack with a party. Everyone in the pack celebrated the new Luna with great excitement. Everyone, except the Luna himself. Quentin sat outside on the porch, staring out into the dark forest.

"What's wrong, Luna?" A voice called out behind Quentin.

He barely turned his head. "How'd you know it was me?"

Sean sat down, staring out at the forest as well. "I knew because you're the only one not at the party. Markus is looking for you. What's up?"

Quentin bit his lip. "I can't lead a pack."

"Yeah, we know."

"But-"

"Markus can." Sean turned his gaze to Quentin. "But he can't do it without you by his side. You love him, don't you?"

"Of course I do."

"Then go back inside. Make out in the kitchen or something. Just stay by his side." Sean sat back. "Seriously, I don't get why you're so insecure. Haven't we already told you millions of times we don't care about you being a Vampire or whether or not you had to have certain qualifications?"

Quentin smiled. "Thanks, Sean." He looked back out into the forest. "But I don't think I'll get rid of these insecurities as quick as that."

"Well, either way, Markus won't let you leave so you might as well go back inside."

"Not yet." Quentin sighed. "I'm waiting."

Sean blinked and then nodded. "Ah. You wanted Markus to find you."

Shrugging, Quentin stood. "Yeah, but he's too dense to pick up on signals."

"Well, that's why you love him." Sean and Quentin shared a smile just as Markus burst outside, looking around before spotting Quentin and letting out a sigh.

"Thank god... I was looking for you."

Quentin nodded, crossing his arms. "I know. I wanted you to." Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see Sean sneaking inside. Stepping forward, he wrapped his arms around Markus's neck. "It was too crowded inside."

Markus chuckled, returning Quentin's hug. "Well... It's a lot quieter upstairs..."

Quentin pulled back and raised a brow. "Oh, is it? And just what are you suggesting?"

"Maybe that we could-"

"Go inside have a cookie and then go to bed? Yes, I'd like that." Quentin gave Markus a quick peck on the lips and slipped away from him to run back inside before Markus to process what had happened.

Sean stood in the doorway and began to jog beside him on the way to the kitchen. "I thought you wanted him to find you."

"Yes, I did, but this is much more fun than just going along with his whims." Quentin grinned, loving the chance to tease his mate. "And of course, I want to get back at him for what he did last time he took me upstairs."

Sean shrugged. "Well, I guess it's a good thing you're the Luna. If it were anyone else, they'd let him do what he wanted and nothing would get done."

Before Quentin could reply, Markus ran into the kitchen, a small frown on his face as he stared at the two. Silently, he rushed forward, picked up Quentin, and made his way upstairs. Throwing Quentin on the bed, he was on top of him before he could escape. They stared at each other silently before Markus began to pout. "You ran away from me."

"Um... Yes."

Quentin flinched as Markus began to nibble at the skin on his neck. "Why?"

"B-because I wanted to."

Markus let out a low growl, hugging Quentin around his waist. "You can't run away anymore. You're mine."

Quentin smiled, running his hands through Markus' hair. He loved the way he could incite this sort of reaction from Markus, though if he ever told him he knew Markus would never let him forget it. So, instead, he pulled his face up, placed a kiss and Markus' lips, and simply said, "I know."

Hello everyone, I'm back... I know it's a bit of an unexpected return, after such a long hiatus. However, I was quite busy this time around in life so I have an excuse; I recently moved and had to get everything set up, but I ended up misplacing my laptop and had a lot of other things I had to get fixed up before I even thought about writing anything. Well, I'm back now and I hope to do a lot of updates soon.

But, with that, I do have bad news. I've recently gone through and looked through all of my current stories, drafts and published, and have decided to either pause or discontinue a few that I've lost touch with and don't feel like updating anymore. I haven't got a specific list up, but I will look through and decide which to cut in favor of new stories. I feel bad for it, since I know you've been waiting for them, but I feel like it's been so long since I've updated them or started anything new that I want to kind of move on a little. It would be nice to have a fresh start and not have to worry about updating stories that have been dormant so long I've forgotten where I'd wanted to go with them. Of course, with this cancelling of old stories I'm hoping to update and publish new stories, so please look forward to those.

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
