Chapter 10

Even at millions of miles away, the sun always seems to have perfect aim. Unhappily, I rolled out of bed, glaring at the gap between the curtains, noting that I was the only person in the room. Sitting on the edge of the bed, I turned on my phone, happy to see it was 100% charged and noted that it was already 11 in the morning. I wasn't surprised. We had been up late last night, and I was glad that I had been able to sleep at all, never mind, get ten hours of sleep.

My phone buzzed a few times, snapping me out of my thoughts.

@NiallOfficial is now following you on Twitter, one notification read. I smiled, and pulled open the twitter app. Tapping the @ symbol on the bottom with the word "connect" under it, I noted with a smile that all 5/5 of One Direction were now following me on twitter as were 100 people I'd never heard of before. Were some fans that crazy that they would follow anyone One Direcion follows? I guessed so.

Closing twitter, I opened the texting app. I had five new texts. I decided it would just be easiest to start from the top down, and tapped my mom's name.

Hi, honey, it read. Dad, Claire, and I went out for breakfast. Hope you don't mind. We waited for you to get up, since we knew we shouldn't wake you, but decided to go and bring some back for you, instead. Love you xx

I shot back that they could leave it for me in the mini fridge for later, and moved to the next text.

Hey! it said, simply. It was from Kylie. I shot back an equally simple, hi! knowing it was already two in the afternoon back home.

The third and fourth texts were from my extremely One Direction obsessed friends, Hannah and Mary. Both of them were demanding to know how I got all five members of One Direction to follow me on twitter, I didn't even respond, deciding to explain everything to them once I was home, knowing how much they would freak.

Last, was Niall. Morning, princess. What time do I get to see you and your beautiful face today?

I smiled at the text and felt my face flush, slightly. I told him that I was getting ready now, and that he and the boys could pick me up and possibly go for lunch.

With that, I set my phone down and stepped over to my closet to get ready.

Digging through my suitcase, I chose a simple blue t-shirt with a red, superman logo in the middle. For pants, I chose my tight, denim, short shorts. Like the ones I'd warn when I met the boys, they were just shy of reaching my fingertips.

Moving into the bathroom, I reached into my jewelry case and pulled out my pandora bracelet, a pair of dangly red balls, hanging from a silver chain, and a red, heart necklace. Last, I grabbed my silver Irish Claddagh ring, the heart made of a beautiful diamond. I had got it for my sixteenth birthday last year, and loved it to death. I placed the jewelry in a small pile next to my clothes and turned the water on in the shower.

When it was at a good temperature, I stripped out of my clothes, undid my bun, and hopped in, enjoying the warm water. I washed my hair, conditioned it, shaved my armpits and legs, and washed my whole body.

Turning the water off, I grabbed a towel, and wrapped it around myself, wiping most of the water off of my skin.

Stepping out, I pulled on clean underwear and pulled my hair up in the towel above my head, leaving it to deal with last.

Carefully, I stepped into my shorts, and pulled my shirt over my head, examining the simple outfit closely in the mirror, satisfied.

When that was done, I moved to do my makeup. I applied a thin coat of strawberry-scented lipgloss, along with mascara, eyeliner, and a small amount of natural-colored eyeshadow.
