I wrapped my arms around myself letting more of the tears run down my face trying to breath properly, everyone was sleeping making it so I can just think to myself for awhile without people trying to coddle me when I don’t want to be coddled I just wanted to figure out how I can save myself along with still be the cure, so far they haven’t found us but it was only a matter of time because in the next couple hours we had to leave. Avia’s did I forget to mention are loaded so there are extra cars, before Blake made this whole thing happen my father had told him there was one scientist that we could trust, she lived in Kansas (Which is pretty fucking far if I might add) that if I got to her safely she would try to help us. And I guess that’s what we’re doing today.

“You’re up late.” Blake yawned stretching making him look taller than he already was, he leaned against the rail next to me.

“Why are you awake?” He shrugged before looking at the crystal blue water.

“Because we have to leave soon I’ve decided Hailey and Avia are going to leave before us to check and see if we were followed, Andy look at me.” I finally looked at the blonde boy his blue eyes gleamed slightly in the moonlight.

“Blake why are you helping me? Diya hates me with a passion along with Hailey so why help us when most of your family hates us.” He sighed frustrated, before looking out at the mountains.

“Just because my sister hates you and Hailey doesn’t mean I do or should, Diya and I have always had our differences and that bitch kept Hailey and I apart for the longest time so I’m taking the chance of getting arrested and sent to jail for her no one knows it but I love that girl inside.” I felt my eyes grow wide slightly when he shrugged standing up straight. “And sometimes loving someone means helping their friends so they are happy, no one deserves to die like this.” I nodded and wiped my face with the sleeve of my long sleeved shirt.

“When do we leave?” I felt arms snake around my waist and instantly leaned back into them, Blake smirked.

“Sense lover boy is up I’ll go wake up the girls.” I nodded and turned around in Jace’s arms so I was facing him.

“Listen, I know we’ve known each other for about 2 weeks tops but the thing is Andy I can’t get you out of my head you’re different from everyone I’ve ever met I will protect you with everything I have ok? And after this is over I promise we will go on a official date,” He kissed the top of my head. “I don’t even know how these feelings happened so fast.” I laid my head on his chest letting what he just said sink in.

“Thank you Jace.” He nodded and held me there for god knows how long I didn’t want to move I just wanted to stay here for awhile forget that there are people wanting to kill me.

“You’re being a selfish brat” We both looked up to see Mason standing on the bridge to get to the house, I pushed Jace away walking towards him. “Don’t you want to save children who were like me? You are the cure and you’re being a selfish little bitch, what is your life worth over a million Andrea?” By now everyone was outside they let me approach Mason.

“I know.” He looked taken back for a second, I looked at him this time really looked at the man who had to drag me to the testing center once. He had strawberry blonde hair brown eyes and a scar on the left side of his face that went from his eye to the bottom of his chin, there was another the long scar on the right side that went from his nose to the other side of his cheek.

“Then why won’t you go back?” I gave him one more look before completely standing in front of him.

“Did they send you to come get me?” He nodded briskly and snatched my wrist in his hand. “I can’t believe that killing me off is the only way for the cure to work, that I need to sacrifice all of me I have to throw my life away. If we don’t have any other options than Mason I promise you I will turn myself in.”

Mason looked torn, like he wanted to snatch me up and drag me away to my death and torn between trusting me to find another way to save myself and the many mothers out there, he cursed under his breath before letting my wrist go and taking out his phone and holding it up to me.

“They are tracking me right now, you have maybe an hour before they come here guns blazing now get the hell out of here before I change my mind.” I nodded and looked to see all my friends scrambling to get stuff ready.

“Mason will you do something for me?” He nodded but started walking away anyway. “Tell my parents I love them and I’ll see them soon.” He left and I turned to see Hailey she was glaring at his back.

“I don’t trust him.”

Mason…

“Mom?” Mason walked into his house seeing his mother holding a knife tears rolling down her face, she was mumbling something that Mason couldn’t here.

“Son, maybe you should go with your friends?” Mason’s father stepped in between Mason and his mother, he knew all too well what was going to happen.

“I came to check on mom, how is she doing?” Mason’s father rubbed his neck, Mason being almost the same height as his father being about six foot moved past his father who protested but he put his hand on his mother’s shoulder. “Mom-.”

“NO!” Mason’s mother lunged for her son grabbed him by the collar and dragged the knife down his face. “I won’t let you end up like that!” He dragged the knife across his cheek when Mason’s father grabbed the woman before she could anymore damage.

“Sharry calm down! Mason are you ok?” Mason applied pressure before he started to feel dizzy. “Son?” Mason’s mother regained her senses and cried running to her son.

“I am so sorry.”

“Let me go.” Mason snapped shaking his mom off and got up on wobbly feet. “Hospital.” His dad nodded and helped his son to the car.

“Mason I’m so sorry!” Mason’s mother screamed running to the door Mason was having a hard time keeping his eyes open.

“Mason, listen to me she didn’t mean to you know that.” Mason had tuned his father out by now feeling trying to keep his eyes open, he was losing to much blood.

“Did you find her?” Regina asked as Mason got back in the jeep, he shook his head lying came easy to Mason easier than breathing.

“No I didn’t the house was completely abandoned.” She gave him a look and Mason pulled out, the woman had long flowing brown hair and pale blue eyes. She was a troubled soul like Mason with a similar past he could understand why she was so determined, but Andy had a way to talk and she was right.

“Are you sure?” She asked rolling her eyes and taking out her phone. “Oh how you lie.” Mason’s eyes widened and he slammed on the brakes grabbing the women.

“Why did you lie to me Regina you told me that killing her was the only way for the cure to work.” She rolled her eyes again.

“The reborns are abominations and as soon she is eliminated and we use her blood no child will have to suffer like we did like they have to everyday, now where are they going and why did you let her go. I can listen but I would much rather hear you say it.” Mason didn’t give her a chance before slamming her head onto the dashboard knocking her out cold before driving away, he knew that she had already called in that they were here.
