Three days and we finally arrived in Kansas. Blake refused to talk to me and Teresa was trying to contact the women to meet us somewhere and we were supposed to meet her at a local restaurant, Regina told Blake something but he refused to tell us in till we got to find out how to save me, I wasn’t convinced.

“The restaurant should be somewhere up ahead.” Teresa mumbled throwing her hair up in a ponytail, I put on a tank top with shorts and some converse leaving my hair down. Blake walked next to us scanning the crowds of people Teresa was getting fidgety when we saw the restaurant, Teresa stopped us before we went in.

“What are you doing, she should be in their.” Teresa nodded before handing me a gun, my eyes widened and she rolled her eyes.

“Take it, if something goes wrong. Use it.” I took the gun with shaky hands and put it in the waistband of my shorts it didn’t show through my tank top.

“Wait we’re not going in there with her?” Teresa shook her head and he glared. “I don’t trust her at all to do this by herself and I can’t see how you can either.” I glared at Blake.

“Excuse me?” He rolled his eyes before shaking his head.

“You can barely walk without someone getting taken or left behind.” He snapped walking towards the restaurant I stopped him before he could walk in and pushed him, I could feel my anger get the best of me before the words just tumbled out of my mouth.

“If you think I’m such a fuck up then why are you still here? Why you just let the take me Blake? Leave if you think I can’t do this.” He glared right back.

“Listen you two! This is not the pla-.” A woman with long blonde hair and soft brown eyes walked out before turning to Teresa and sighing.

“Hello children.” Teresa sighed before hugging the woman, she hugged back rocking slightly before rubbing her back.

“Mom.” I felt my eyes widen slightly as Teresa hugged her back, she had always told us her mom had died when she was born.

“Wait-.” The women let go of Teresa before looking to us, her eyes landed on me she looked so sad before she smiled.

“You looks so much like your father, I’m Laura nice to meet you Andy.” I was so confused before I turned to Teresa.

“I thought-.” Teresa cut me down with a glare.

“We will talk about it later, now mom? Should we go to your lab?” Laura nodded before she started walking in the opposite direction of the restaurant.

“Do you mind if I test your blood Andy?” I got tense but nodded sitting down in a chair, her office was pretty big standard white walls a white chair, there were needles test tubes and other chemicals that she would be testing my blood with.

“What are you planning on doing?” She tied her hair back taking a needle, she looked at Teresa and Blake motioning for them to get out. Which they did much to Blakes protest.

“I am planning on testing your blood first with different components, if that doesn’t work I am thinking of thinning your blood to see how much they would need instead of having to kill you,” I turned my head away when the needle pierced my skin, I could slowly feel the anger rising inside me it was a natural reaction through all the testing they had done pumping stuff into my system. “I don’t get why they needed to pump the emotion components into your system instead of testing them separately.” I felt more anger rise at this information.

“I don’t understand why they automatically want to resort of killing me.” She took the blood she needed before going to look at it.

“They probably weren’t just going to kill you Andrea, I know them all to well. They are more complex than that I have seen them tell families that there was no hope for a child and tell them he or she didn’t make it, when in reality they kept the child for testing I know for a fact they wouldn’t have killed you off, they would have maybe taken almost all your blood till they knew your limit. Because you are there testing supply they can’t lose their only opportunity of curing the virus.” Everything started to make sense and click together peace by peace.

“I have a question for you,” She looked up before motioning to continue. “Why did Teresa tell everyone her mom was dead, when her mom is right here.” She sighed before smiling sadly at me.

“That is another story for another day.” She went back to adding stuff to my blood, I held a cotton bud to my arm so it wouldn’t bleed anymore.

“The emotional thing they normally used was Aggression.” She nodded but sighing, she grabbed a couple things before going back to work this was probably going to be a long day.

I sat around with Blake as Teresa went to check on her mother, we were going on hour six of her mother not leaving the lab it worried Blake and I because she refused to let anyone of us help, she had to take more of my blood to try and thin it there had been three occasions where we have had to go in and restrain her from having an absolute fit and ruining the whole test.

“I FIGURED IT OUT!” Blake and I jumped when the crazy blonde women came out looking ecstatic.

“And?” She shook her head taking off her lab coat and throwing on a thin over coat.

“No time to explain, Teresa is going to call Mason right now and try to talk to him I need your friend Andy he’s the key.” I cocked an eyebrow.

“What friend.” She beamed at me before pointing at Blake with a grin on her face.

“You are a genious! I tried your blood, Teresa’s lood, Avias, but Jaces! That was the key I thinned her blood enough so it would take and added his blood, I’m not going to go into depth about this but Andy we need to hide you in case things go south.” I nodded as she lead me to a room with a door without a handle, I stopped and turned to her this didn’t feel safe.

“Are you sure?” She nodded pushing me in, the room was a dark blue with a single white bed no windows which freaked me out even more.

“Hey Andy, whatever happens I promise i’ll come back and if it’s not me opening this door then get suspicious.” I walked to the door touching the cold metal.

“You better come back for me Blake.”I heard him chuckle.

“Before you were Hailey’s friend we were friends, I won’t let anything happen to you considering there’s a guy who kill me if I let a single hair on your pretty head fall out of place.” I laughed before going to sit on the bed, I looked around the room and found a vent smiling.

 ...Jace

I groaned falling back on the military like bed it was hard as hell and was to short for my long legs, Avia and Hailey sat on different sides of the room thank god they had been bickering sense they got placed with me.

“I wonder if she’s ok.” Hailey came and sat next to me and I gave her a short glare.

“Didn’t I ask we don’t talk about her?” I wasn’t fond of the long brown haired girl and vise versa she was very rude to me, Avia saw it and rolled her eyes getting up patting my leg.

“Kid, you need to talk about your feelings.” I shot a glare at her as well, it was painful to think of Andy that beautiful girl meant a lot to me in  a short period of time.

“I don’t give a fuck! She’s safe and fine somewhere or we have known the second she was brought in.” I physically saw Hailey snap as she smacked me over the head before punching me.

“How-.” I was stunned when Avia threw Hailey to the ground and off the bed I grabbed Avia before she could hit her, it was weird seeing her this way.

“Watch yourself Record do you really think Andy would like you hitting the guy she is almost basically his girlfriend, so you know what you can fuck off.” This normally sweet girl was making me almost laugh.

“You don-.”

“You don’t hit someone just because they say something that you don’t like, you don’t know the shit he’s been through. Hailey I know you’ve been through stuff to and I get it but stop throwing  yourself a pity party.” I fully agreed with the girl, we talked on our way here and I confided in her (well she was also super persistent on why I wouldn’t let her touch me)  about my father and mother, another reason why she’s being super protective.

“Avia, calm down she’s fine. I understand.” I nodded to Hailey seeing as she seemed hurt. “But you want to know the truth? It hurts to think if she’s not ok, you two don’t know how many times I’ve thought if something bad happened to her what I would do. So please can we leave it at that?” I smiled bitterly they both looked at me, that’s when Mason came.
