When Dimensions Collide

Chapter 2: A Boring Time.

Doctor finally pulled the lever. The familar sound of TARDIS's woorping had just begun, but instead of contunuing, it made a sad woorp and the lighting changed to red...

Yaz POV:
There was a moment of silence after that, then the sound of the cloister bells filled the room. "That doesn't sound good..." said ryan. "No kidding?." I said walking towards the crystal they were standing near. "Whats wrong this time doc? And most importantly can you fix it?" Said Graham emphasising the word 'this time'. "I don't know... the readings are a little funky. Maybe i should try again?"

She pulled the lever once more. This time the TARDIS made a different sound, like it was in pain. "I am so sorry sexy." Doc said petting the console to give it confort. Wait a second, did the Doctor just call the ship sexy? The TARDIS made a bleeping noise in return "i know, i know. I'll do my best." The doc said with a really sad and worried expression. "It's like she forgat we are here." Ryan whispered loud enough so only Graham and me would hear, unless Doctor had a super alien hearing. Which i highly doubt. "It is more like a man and his car..." Graham whispered back. "I think it's cute." I said. I felt my face slightly heaten up after realizing what i said.

There was an awkard silence after that, with the cloister bells sounds at the background. Finally the Doctor had finally finished her little talking session with the TARDIS and was walking towards us. I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she looked under the red lighting. I internally slapped myself to distract myself from these thoughts. I mean really what was i thinkin'? "Well...uh i have some good and bad news." Said the Doctor, doing a lot of hand gestures. "Let's hear the good ones first, seeing the bad ones will be a lot more." Ryan pointed around us, gesturing to the led lights and the sound of the bells. Graham nodded in agreement. "Come on! Have a little faith in Doc, i bet it is nothing she can't fix." I said smiling at her. "Thats my Yaz! Always to optimistic!" I blushed a little at her words. What was going on with me today?

"Okay the good news first." She clapped her hands together. "The TARDIS is currently in-" she was going to say something but stopped. Probably because we wouldn't understand "-a kind of self protecting mode. Meaning nothing can come in. So we are safe." Everyone let a sigh of relief "But nothing can come out either... so we are kinda stuck inside... Ops?"  "what?!" Said 3 of us at the same time. "So you're sayin' that we are stuck inside?!" Graham said in a rather angry way. "I am sorry! But i will try to fix okay?" Just as she said it the ship made another sad bleerp, and the doctor put her hand on the crystal we were leaning on "you poor thing..." she said rubbing it. "Welp i better get to work!" She grabbed her sonic out of her coat, then took it off and tossed it into Ryan's hand. She got under the console and started fiddling with wires and sonicing them, causing a lot of sparks to accur.

It has been a long time since doc had started working. She would occasionally get up and look at the scanner, scronch her nose and get back under. We were talking about stuff while the Doctor was working. Graham tried to speak to her. Saying maybe she should take a break but Doctor always declined. She couldn't stand her TARDIS "being in pain".

"I don't get it!" She said finally getting up and wiping off the dust and other substances that were on her. "There is nothing wrong on the console, all the buttons and levers are functioning fine. Then what are these strange readings?!" We didn't say anything. Probably because none of us knew who she was talking to; herself or us? She hit her head "did something like this happen before? Ugh! This new head! The memories are all over the place!" She looked at us like she waited for us to understand or relate, for a moment forgetting that we were not her species. She was adorable when she did this.

"Maybe..." she rushed over to one of the tiles on the ground and opened it. I was really surprised that they could open. Ryan and I went over to the Doctor and looked over her shoulder to see what she was doing. It was hard to see what exactly was going on due to the red lighting. As far as i could see she had crouched down near the open tile and was sonicing the things inside. When she got her hand out it was all covered in dust so it was obvious that she hadn't opened that place up in a long time. "That seems about the right place..." she spoke to herself. I leaned to the console, near where she was working. I was watching her hands move gently, trying to not hurt the TARDIS more then it was already, curiosly. Then Ryan decided to join Graham on the step. While doc continued to work on the parts inside, sometimes scanning them to see the readings, she would blow the hair that would get into her way.

It was kinda adorable actually, watching her blow the hair away in frustration. "GOD DAMN LONG HAIR!" She finally gave up and took her hands out, wiped them then tucked her hair behind her ear. Just as she had started working again, it fell right infront of her face "seriosly?" She said in surfeit. I chuckled and took of one of the hair clips that held my hair into buns and put it on hers in a way that her hair won't get into her way anymore "thank you Yaz!" She smiled at me, making my heart skip a beat. "No problem." I said turning my face away so i could hide my blush from her. When i did i could see Graham was looking our way. He winked at me and returned to their conversation with Ryan.

Some minutes later Doc finally got up and sighed. "I worked so hard and yet, i found nothin'." The TARDIS made a woorp sound "so sorry girl." She said looking up to the ship. I put my hand on her shoulder "You did your best." She nodded "i guess we should speak to Ryand and Graham."

With that we went to them and sat next to them "So doc, any luck on fixing the ship" "Nope." She said poppin the 'p' "i tried everything to find out what is causing her pain but i couldn't find it. Not in the console room that is." She said making me us confused. "What do you mean? We cannot go outside, you said it yourself" Said Graham me and Ryan nodded in agreement. "I wasn't talking about going outside. If we could go to the heart of the TARDIS, i could probably find out what's wrong-" "Heart of the TARDIS?" asked Ryan "Yeah heart, it is somewhat like a engine room but different. Anyways, it is very dangerous to go there. Beacuse it is so deep into the ship and it is her heart, she will do anything to keep anyone going there. Especially in this state." 

Just as she said that the console room began to shake and the cloister bells sound got higher. "Well, i guess we don't have a choice know." Doc said.

Secondly i would like to apologise about this chapter i really got carried away and described the same things too much, making this chapter overall boring. But i promise to make the next chapter more exciting. And who knows, maybe we may run into some old friends ;) who nose?
