Song of the chapter: Hard to love by too close to touch

~3 weeks later~

Oliver was having a shit day already and it wasn't even 8 a.m yet. Last nigh, Oliver had come home to a letter saying that his dad was being moved to a new prison in Australia, literally the other side of the world. This meant that Oli couldn't visit his dad even if he wanted to, which he did, he had been toying with the idea in his head for a while now. To make things even shittier, the local newspaper had found out, and had published a new article all about Oliver's dad which included a photo of both Oli and his brother. Oliver felt like breaking down, he knew that everybody in the town would read the newspaper and see him and Tom as nothing more than the product of a murderer.

Oli had woken up to the sound of commotion on the streets outside. He had yanked himself out of bed before stumbling downstairs to the front door. When he pulled open the door, he rubbed his eyes to see a whole team of journalists and news producers right on his doorstep. Before he could even open his mouth, the entire group of people started asking him questions, shoving their bulky cameras into his face. Oli immediately shut the door, hoping they would go away.

He went about his morning routine as usual, waking up Tom, eating breakfast and getting dressed. Once he was ready he opened the front door again, scanning the street to check that none of the news reporters were still there. To his surprise, they weren't. He looked down at his phone to see it was 9 a.m. Great, him and Tom were both late to school.

Oli walked all the way to school with Tom, he didn't want Tom walking on his own incase anyone from the paper tried to question him on the way. Oli was almost 2 hours late by the time he actually reached the school gates.

Lunch time rolled around and Oli was on the edge of ripping someone's head off. He was pissed beyond belief with the universe. Why did the prison people have to move his dad? Why did his dad have to kill someone? Why did the newspaper have to include Toms face in that fucking article? Oli would rather die then see Tom get harassed for his fathers actions, Oliver knew that he could handle the media attention, but could Tom?

"Hey Oliver." Oli was snapped out of his thoughts by Josh's voice.

"Hey."

"Are you okay Ols? You sound sad."

"I'm fine. I just want to be alone right now Josh."

"You don't sound fine." With that Josh leaned over to wrap his arms around Oli in a hug, but Oli pulled away as soon as their bodies touched, moving to the side and clenching his fists.

"I said I want to be alone."

"I'm not leaving you alone right now you seem li-"

"FUCK OFF JOSH." Oli shouted as he shoved Josh's shoulder hard, making everyone turn their heads toward the pair. Oliver hastily walked straight out of the dinner hall, leaving behind a still dazed Josh.

Oliver held his breath as he sprinted for the nearest bathroom. Just to his luck, no one ever went in the bathrooms on this side of school. Oliver sat down on the cold floor in one of the bathroom stalls, finally letting himself breath. His breaths came out in short, uneven bursts as warm tears ran down his cheeks. His hands shook uncontrollably as his heart banged against his rib cage, making his chest hurt.

He stayed on the floor crying until the bell for class rang, tho he couldn't find the strength to actually get up and walk to class. His entire body still shook as he continued to breathe rapidly.

"Oli?"

Oliver could hear the sound of Josh's footsteps echoing around the bathroom as he walked. They became slow and light as he approached the stall that Oli was huddled in.

"Hey it's okay Oli, just breath with me alright. Everything's fine." Josh's soft voice whispered as he crouched down next to Oli, slipping his arms around the taller boys shoulders and pressing his face into his neck. Oli's breathing automatically slowed down as Josh started to play with his hair softly.

"I'm sorry that I shouted at you." Stuttered Oli, his voice barely above a whisper. He closed his eyes gently, getting lost in the feeling of Josh's fingers slowly running through his choppy hair.

"It's fine Ols, just focus on breathing. After you've calmed down we can talk about what happed, Yeah?" Oli nodded back as he sank further into the other boys touch. And although they were sat on the floor of a dark, dingy school toilet, Oli kinda wished this moment would last forever. He leaned over and pressed his lips against Josh's forehead, letting them linger for a couple of seconds, to which both boys smiled and looked away from each other, blushing.

This chapter was really short, sorry. But thanks for 200 reads! I know this book is kinds shitty but I'm definitely going to try and make the next one better. I'm thinking of making this one around 20 chapters long and then starting on the next book straight after.

Should I wait until I've finished this book first or post the introduction to my next book now? I don't know.

Anyways, thanks for reading, it means so much more to me than you know.
