Voices swirled around the girl. They were constant. It was only when she regained true consciousness that she began to comprehend their meaning.

It sounded like someone had said 'What the hell are you doing?' but she wasn't sure.

As she opened her eyes and calmly took in her surroundings it seemed that she was in The Forbidden Forest again.

Three figures were in front of her, looking slightly concerned. 'Would you get off me?' There was the voice again. Upon turning round she found that she was, in fact, lying on someone else. Luna hauled herself from the ground, nearly falling back again due to dizziness.

'Are you alright?' questioned the boy with glasses who had held onto her before she fell, once again, to the ground.

'I'm fine. Thank you. Do you know what happened?'

'There was this bright light and then you crashed into Sirius over there.' He said, gesturing to the boy with black hair who was still on the floor, groaning.

'Oh. I'm so sorry.'

'Yeah you should be. I mean, I know girls throw themselves at me but that was too far!' replied the boy, who was now standing. The others snickered at his joke. Sirius joined in when he saw the perplexed look on Luna's face.

'Pay no attention to him. I hoped that collision might have knocked some sense into him. I was thoroughly disappointed. I'm Remus by the way.' Remus had scars, etched onto his face. Yet his whole persona seemed to have a mysterious elegance to it.

'I'm James, James Potter.' He held out his hand and Luna shook it with gentle friendliness.

'It's lovely to meet you both. I'm Luna Lovegood.' The one with dark, long hair snorted upon hearing her last name but the girl just ignored it. She was used to it.

'And I'm-' the third, whose features reminded Luna of a rat's, was interrupted by the obnoxious Sirius who was now standing and considerably tall in comparison to the smallest boy:

'Hold on. I know everyone in Hogwarts. How come I haven't seen you before?' asked Sirius.

'What year am I in?' she pondered, accidentally ignoring his question.

'1977 of course. Where have you been? The moon?'

'No, I'm from the future. I'd love to live on the moon though. Wouldn't you? It would be possible. Moon frogs live on the moon.'

'Moon frogs... What are you talking about? Hold on, you're from the future? You certainly don't look like it.' Sirius eyed her attire in disbelief.

The girl wore a canary yellow jumper under her robes, blue untied converses ('an accident waiting to happen' Sirius thought to himself), a purple bag and two very queer looking necklaces. 'What is that?' he sounded repulsed as he gestured to one of them.

'It's made of butterbeer corks. Keeps away the Nargals, see. The other one's a time turner. Isn't it beautiful?'

'You have a time turner! Oh man. I've only ever heard about these.' James said, whilst, unbeknown to Luna, a conniving grin spread across Sirius' face.

'Guys, can we talk, privately?' The others agreed to the sly boy's question and wandered deeper into the forest so that Luna could only hear the faint hum of their voices being carried by the wind, along with leaves and small bits of flora.

Sirius could contain himself no longer so blurted out 'That girl is our ticket out of here!'

'Out of where?' said Peter Pettigrew, puzzled.

'Out of this school. It's great here, but don't you want an adventure? Imagine going into the future. I've always wanted to do that.'

'Calm down Padfoot. I get where you're coming from but isn't this a bit rash?' Potter replied and Sirius soon felt deflated as no one could to comprehend the pure 'genius' of his scheme.

' I thought Time- Turners are supposed to reverse time.' said Peter, as he scratched his head in confusion.

'Yes they are but it seems to me like this girl has already reversed time, meaning that if Sirius was to go with her he would, theoretically be going into the future.' explained Remus.

'And how do you do that?'

'You really don't get it do you? When you turn the time-turner anti clockwise time is reversed. If you turn it clockwise the same number of times you turned it anti clockwise before you reverse time, you can return to the time period where you came from! It's not that hard to understand Wormtail...' James stated, slightly irritated.

'If we offer to help her get home, we can trick her into giving us the time turner after we've gone into the future with her. We'll be able to see our futures and so much more. I bet we can even get snivillus thrown in Askaban!'

'How do you know Luna needs help?'

'Trust me Moony. She does, in more ways than one.'

'I'm gunna have to say I'm out on this one bro....You know how guilty I get when one of your plans back fire.' stated James, backing off.

'Don't you think she'll be upset if you just leave her in a random time period?'

'She'll be fine. Anyway, since none of you chickens will go with me, I'll go on my own. Don't worry about me though my dears.'

'Just don't do anything you'll regret.'

'I don't do regret. I'll be back before you know it anyway.' And with that they walked back to Luna, who was now sitting on a tree trunk, non-chalantly.

When Sirius arrived in front of Luna he sighed, as if laboured with a burden. 'I'm going to help you get back.' Luna, who never held judgements of anyone, was strangely surprised.

'That's nice of you to offer. Though I'm positive making my way home won't be any trouble. How would you return here if you decide to help me?' she asked in earnest. The boy chuckled then replied:

'With the time turner of course, providing that you give it to me when we get you home. Two wands are better than one.' Luna wasn't one to reject an act of kindness so heartily agreed. She pulled her spectrespecs from her bag and placed them on her head, in case of emergency.

'And what exactly is that atrocity?' he asked, disgusted at the strange pink glasses yet slightly curious, more than he would let on anyway.

'They allow me to see the wrackspurts.' Luna, seeing his bemused look, carried on her explanation: 'They float around your head and make your brain go fuzzy.'

For a moment Sirius allowed himself to become interested before shutting off the part of him that was. He could be quite hostile to those who arn't enthralled by him. You could blame that on his ferocious upbringing or egoistic nature.

'You know what? Let's just go now.' Luna put the time turner over both of them in reply and began to turn it. 'You remember how many times you turned it, right?'

'Not entirely. I partly lost count when I was distracted. I know it's somewhere between twelve and sixteen.' Sirius groaned, clearly vexed at how tedious the whole adventure could turn out to be.

He waved at his loyal friends till nothing was left of the forest except a blank space. Or so it seemed...
